@3 Environmental groups like Washington Conservation Voters and Sierra Club often endorse Republicans against Democrats. In fact, they endorsed Litzow in the 41st. Again, McKenna is the problem, not the environmentalists.

Okay, so here's what I don't get. During my visit home to Seattle last October I saw McKenna's commercials. I guess his wife was okay with fucking him because he didn't have a girly voice too. Washington State republicans are some special kind of fucked-up shit--the men and the women. Although that's not saying much since Colorado is far, far worse.

The environment is not merely a bunch of parks you drive to over a 3 day weekend. The environment is what we are a part of all the time. Without a healthy environment, we could not survive one day.

What I just said is Greek to a Republican. Hence the paltry few endorsements from environmental groups.

3, creating parks is the environmental equivalent of kissing babies. Real environmentalism is about re-creating our energy consumption model from fossil fuels towards renewable energy. It's about protecting habitat for endangered species. It's about including the environment in all other discussions, whether they be zoning laws, traffic problems, or education. Something no Republican is interested in doing.

And bringing up names that haven't been in office for over twenty years? That's some nice barrel-scraping, there. If that's the best you can do to argue in your favor, you're not standing on very solid ground.

It would be nice to debate a conservative that can demonstrate an ability to think critically. Like E G Marshall in Twelve Angry Men. There just aren't any around these days.

McKenna may have outperformed Rossi's 2008 Seattle numbers, but he underperformed the hell out of McKenna's own 2008 Seattle numbers. Based on the election night percentages (which vary slightly from the final percentages -- too lazy to find the final numbers and do the math), in 2008 McKenna got 39.60% in the 36th, 30.54% in the 43rd, and 29.41% in the 37th. McKenna lost nearly half of his support in the deep blue areas of Seattle from 2008 to 2012.

It's hard to argue with the fact that McKenna would have won if only he had received more than enough votes. Thanks, Rob, for that critical analysis.

Mckenna also not only refused to sit down and speak with organized labor, he wouldn't even fill out a short-form questionnaire on issues that concern organized labor. This state is somewhere around third or fourth in public-sector union density. So even if he wasn't going to do anything in regard to any of those concerns, some good old-fashioned glad-handing might have not cost him the entirety of the labor vote.

To paraphrase "And I would have won too if it hadn't been for those meddling kids!"
