Of the female soldiers I knew in my time in the Army...
One got pregnant to skip deployment.
One got pregnant during deployment and got sent back to the states.
A couple officers started toying around with enlisted dudes, against Army regulations.
One began an affair with her boss and got promoted ahead of her peers.
One fucked a lot of dudes, but maybe I'm just jealous.
The rest are shining examples of the Army Ethos, competent soldiers and I would go to war with them again. But the bad juju from the rest made me sick.

Ergj!! Love the Francoisiuersch Jen! just wish you'd have spelt it Fryday. Oh well, that's me living another day with big issues on my mind. I first heard of I think pamplemoouse a few years ago- bandname for annoying band.

Eighth-century people wouldn't even know how to use superpowers.
4
@1: And of course, during your time in the Army there were no male soldiers who engaged in any sort of "bad juju" that made you sick, right?
5
@1: As a female Army vet, FU. Clearly no men were involved in those cases.
6
Aw, I'm going to miss the 520 ramps to nowhere. Canoeing beneath them brought to mind the ancient architecture of cthulhu.

@ 1 So what you are saying is that of the male solders you knew in your time in the army...

1 got a fellow solder pregnant so she could skip deployment,
1 got a fellow solder pregnant on deployment,
a bunch of enlisted dudes toyed around with officers against Army regulations
1 had an affair with a lower ranked person, and then played favorites.
A lot of dudes fucked the same person.

so male make you sick solders is what you are saying?

Wow, that story of the 20 y/o toddler was just extraordinary. Syndrome X reminds me of another genetically predisposed condition, progeria where children age rapidly. How strange. Good on the parents and the child.

BTW, the most annoying sports story of the year concerns Manti Te'o, the Notre Dame defensive football player and his "imaginary girlfriend. Anyone out there think that he might just be a closeted gay man? This story just gets weirder & weirder. Found out last night on Sportscenter that the voice of the imaginary girlfriend was a man! Apparently, he the other man is also Samoan. Not sure if he's a Mormon as Te'o is.
Bizarre! Sigh.

@1 why do I, who spent years training, serving with, and in active field operations with women soldiers in Canada not believe you?

People leave the Army for lots of reasons, but I left to have a kid. You don't see guys being called "quitters" for wanting to do that, instead you blame women soldiers FOR DOING THE SAME THING. It's just more obvious when they do it, though.

Ello...I'm vrrry French you see: Makes me appreciate that having a kid, even one with a slight bad streak but who is physically healthy, is less a burden than what those parents have to deal with.

Manti T'eo. It really does have to make one pause and think -- here's a varsity football player from the (formerly) #1 ranked college team and the best he can come up with is an invisible friend for a date? And he goes to a Catholic school...with Catholic schoolgirl coeds...he should be swimming in it! What hope does the rest of mankind have...

13
Let me attempt to skate by deployment with my uterus... Wait!
14
@13: Doubling down on the bullshit, I see.
15
Yes #8. An uncountable number of people think Te'o is a closeted gay man.
16
Te'o's not gay. No, he's "far from it."

17
@16 Far from admitting it, he means.
18
No, meaning he's Super Straight. Like, if gay is right here, he's on-the-other-side-of-the-planet-straight. Which, as I'm sure you know, is better than "nearly gay" or even just plain old "straight."

(I think his parents might have something to do with his homophobia. Poor dumb Dear).

Please wait...
