I feel like every new Kidd Pivot show is the best performance I have seen or will see that year. I have been seriously considering becoming a groupie and following them on tour.

The NYT review made me laugh.

The best performances of The Tempest that I've ever seen in Seattle have been free performances by school kids and by UW Theater students.

I've been awed and moved by Kidd Pivot shows past, but for all the visual cleverness and a few moments of exquisite movement in The Tempest Replica, I found it to be structurally disjointed and viscerally unfulfilling.

The pomposity of that Times review makes me cringe, but sadly I agree with more of his takeaway than not.
