Romney got as many votes as McCain even though voter turnout was considerably lower. Not too shabby considering he is the quintessential vulture capitalist in the mist of a recession (depression for some) precipitated by the financial sector and after 4 years of abject obstructionism by conservatives.
I was so hoping this would happen as far back as Election Night, when it became clear it was a possibility. Ah, karma, karma. Or poetic justice. Whatever you want to call it. I can't believe how perfectly everything turned out in the election.
Now I'm just hoping Obama doesn't cave in (too much) and blow it.
The Daily Mail, Paul? I thought that was the one that was read by the wives of the people who run the country. Well, at least you're not linking us to the Daily Telegraph...*
@10, I simply disagree the GOP failed to reach its possible objectives. By all measures they should have been pilloried until kingdom come after 2008, yet they managed to gain the house in 2010 and retain it by a comfortable margin in 2012, thereby likely ensuring another 4 years of Democratic "spineless" capitulation. Capitulation that was sanctioned by the large decrease in turnout for Obama (minus 7 million vote whereas as noted in my previous post a poor candidate like Romney managed to retain all of the GOP base). How do you think it'll shake out in 2016 if as is probable the economy doesn't noticeably improve or if Occupy doesn't get a second wind?
Actually, if you look at the stats, almost all Rmoney supporters pay no income tax (retirees) or avoid it illegally (people like him) or use loopholes to avoid it.
