I find it really weird and sad how many people apparently voted FOR pot but AGAINST marriage equality. What the fuck, libertarians? What is your goddamn stupid-assed bigoted deal?
But still, passing is passing and it's still a damn sight better than having to have a court mandate it!
@1 "But still, passing is passing and it's still a damn sight better than having to have a court mandate it!"
For once, I disagree with your comments. Far better, I think, that a court (preferably the Supremes) affirms marriage equality. A constitutional right is a constitutional right, and should not be subject to a popular vote.
At the NO on 1240 campaign, we remain cautiously optimistic. We won in King County and the remaining votes from there (and elsewhere north) just might push us over the top. We are almost the exact reverse of the numbers for R 74.
We're counting on you, King County!
And thank you, thank you to The Stranger and The Slog for their support and smart thinking on charter schools!
You guys are going to need to admit how wrong you were. All your Bradley Effect handwringing and elaborate theories for why the poll were wrong. Remember?
The polls said 52 percent to 46 percent favoring Approve R-74. What we got was 52/48. Pretty much nailed it.
The score is data 1, your gut feeling, 0. Especially if you're going to jump on the Nate Silver bandwagon now and try to pretend you were with his fact-based approach all along. The truth is, you were no smarter than "Unskewed Polls".

Anyway, a 51-49 victory is equal to an 80-20 victory. Don't sweat it too much.

I think marriage for all is more a civil right than charter schools.
