Fuck Steinbrueck.
2
Fuck anyone who is starting next year's campaign before this one is even in the bag.

For christ's sake. Give us all a fucking break already. Even ardent political junkies like me need a bit of downtime before the next one starts up again.
3
He really soiled himself shilling for the Port.
4
Uh, no.
5
Peter People?

I support candidates who are running and/or seeking the mayoral spot. We need candidates who are more clear and/or concise in their message. Also, we have to be more inclusive/welcoming to all, as this is Seattle, with out proud polite/inclusive tradition of not actually making firm choices/selections even in things like basic word usage/diction.
7
It would probably be good if they actually had like a website with some.... ya know.... information on it. A sad and incomplete Wikipedia page doesn't really make me want to support someone...
8
bold and/or firm leadership @ 6....

Fuck you too.
9
How's that Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness he started around, oh, ten years ago coming along? Safe Harbors? Ask your friendly neighborhood caseworker how effective that is.
10
That's nothing. Chris Christie started the 2016 election season a week ago.
11
@9, Steinbreuck did not "start" the 10 Year Plan, or Safe Harbors. Safe Harbors was lifted from the County (and still doesn't work well, so no one would want to claim it) and the Plan was devised by a number of people (mostly from the religious community) who participated in a community conversation.

I note the Wiki page was last modified in July.

Being a Tacoman with no skin in the Seattle game whatever, all I can do is wonder. I mean, its unlikely to hurt him to start early. Sure, people will grumble now, but nobody will remember this a month from now. At the same time, he's not going to get any support for starting this early either, so why is he so anxious to begin?

Seems like a waste of resources to me.
13
Steinbrueck chaired the committee that developed Safe Harbors in the city, before they'd even chosen a software vendor; I went to one of the meetings (and recoiled in terror).
14
You'd still recoil in terror. They're having to get a consultant from HUD out here to help them get up to required speed, after either 5 or 6 years of futzing around with it.
15
McGinn will win.
16
McGinn might make it into the general election.
17
Not so sure this is a push for electing the next mayor as much as it is to boot the current one out of office. I'm ready to listen to, and even contribute to just about any campaign that will do that.
18
@12

Uh, off topic. I read "Tacoman" as "Taco Man" and was confused for a second . Then I laughed.

Carry on.
19
Emor, I cringe thinking what you'd read as "therapist." :)
20
Charlie Staadecker for mayor. Although i dont know if this town can handle someone with character.
21
Peter would have been a good choice 4 years ago but now I am not too sure.

But I'll vote for anyone other than McGinn at this point. I'd even give Nickels another try...LOL!!! Maybe...
22
Perhaps the "People for Steinbrueck", if they really support the issues he cares about, could spend more time doorbelling and phone banking for Inslee and Ferguson or, even better, Referendum 74, and less time making ridiculous facebook pages.

People are going to be hungover on booze, drugs, shame, and either joy or depression on Wednesday. Build your shit then.
23
@8 your succinctness confirms my point. doesn't it feel good to just come right out and say what you ,mean?

Please wait...
