Part of this is because people know the electeds aren't actually going after millionaires and billionaire Greeks who don't pay taxes, or their tax-avoiding corporations.

They even tried to JAIL a journalist who exposed a list of the known tax-avoiders who were depositing money in Swiss and other tax haven banks to illegally avoid Greek taxes.

You'd think the country that holds all the cards in this situation (Germany) would have fucking learned something from history. Ugh.

This really, really ought to be a lesson to people who think economic hardship will radicalize a population to the left, rather than radicalizing the population both left and right, in proportion to preexisting political demographics.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers American left-radicals in the past year gleefully celebrating Greek economic hardship and riots, on account of how a leftist revolution must inevitably follow...
