That's cool, but let me clarify - this is more of an example of East Coast city politics, isn't it? I can't imagine anyone running for statewide office in PA (or most NE states) getting away with that.
If our city politics could have that sort of "blunt frankness and unabashed partisanship" without the preceding and often accompanying naked fraud, bribery, grift, graft, and double-dealing, that might be pleasant. But we can't, and I'm fine with that.
stephanie is no slouch: yale undergrad, NYU math PhD, former professor at a good college. my friends who took her math classes attest to her academic rigor, and she has a great singing voice.
I agree with everything she said, but this is really unprofessional. If your job is the ensure free and fair elections, you're not supposed to make people doubt your ability to do that by openly displaying your intense desire for a particular election outcome.
