Most likely, you still have a Republican majority in the House, heavily dominated by the tea party. And while most Democrats might be expected to line up behind ENDA, it's hard to think of many Republicans, beyond Ileana Ros-Lehtinen who'd be willing to stick their necks out and invite a tea party challenge in their next primary. In fact, it's hard to imagine John Boehner even bringing this up for a vote.

This absolutely makes no sense whatsoever, unless you're grasping at straws to find some excuse to justify endorsing Romney despite the party's horrible record on civil rights.

Wow. I count as "many Americans" for once. I thought that it was already illegal to discriminate against gays and transfolk in employment. It probably is in a lot of states.

I hope there's proof that this promise was made. And I hope said proof makes the mainstream news. I would hope that conservatives would refrain from voting for Romney for being a liar rather than for promising to be fair to gays, but that would strain my hope muscles.
