I don't care what the NRA freaks say...this shit simply doesn't happen in other western countries. There is some serious shit wrong in the US. And it's getting worse.

Jeremy?
3
mudede, would you please just write a coherent sentence, please?

The USA: not as bad as the Russian Federation when it comes to males aged 15 - 19 attempting suicide in 2004. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…
The popular wisdom in Yankland is "guns solve arguments and make everything better." Maybe the drinking age should be lowered so males can temporarily obliterate their troubles instead of heading for Grandpa's gun case or Mom's medicine cabinet. Or maybe you people need to import some competent child psychologists.
6
Charles, I wish you'd stop making speculative comments about the recently deceased.
7
Oh, yes. And of course it has something to do with being rural. I forgot that ubiquitous, urban black-on-black violence is just a big myth in Mudede World.
8
Whose instincts Charles?
9
Do not people, including young men, in communities far larger shoot themselves? What has rurality to do with this? You have a lot of distinct prejudices which make one wonder whether you are applying reason at all. It sounds more like reaction, charles.

Every factor in this young mans life led to the incident. Small town rural life can be nurturing and comforting, it can be claustrophobic and malicious... These things are true of urban life as well. One thing is for sure.. More and more people are making the choice that life is worthless and TO ME there seems a correlation to the values of our nation. The US places little value on human life, if it stands in the way of RIGHT. Think on the "wrongness" inside the person that powers the choice to commit such an act of public defiance and disgust as this young man felt obligated to do.

Good Morning Charles,
Gonna part with you big time. The fact that this tragic incident occurred in a very small rural community has no relevance whatsoever. Clearly, the student was troubled. And, as you acknowledged it is indeed more complicated.

Let's hope this young man pulls through. My empathy is with the community.

@1: Young people in other countries also committ suicide you know.

Unless you are only finding it distasteful because he used a gun, in which case you would be completely insane.

I guess Jeremy's spoken or something.

Please wait...
