Yes, but CEO's build things.

Oh, and they hire folks.

That's why America manufactures all the world's goods and why we have such low unemployment right now.

Or something.
2
I will not stand for this sarcastic attack on unfettered capitalism!

I will instead kneel and beg the rich fucker with the offshore tax havens to pay me a little bit more so I don't have to pay my rent by going further into debt to him.

Slavery: It's what built America.

Yes and the tweeted message today form the the GOP leaderships was this gem from Eric Cantor:

Eric Cantor

@GOPLeader
Today, we celebrate those who have taken a risk, worked hard, built a business and earned their own success.

Happy Labor Day to all the managers & CEO ! Eat shit, workers.

Funny how the distribution of wealth is heading back to pre great depression levels and we should make it greater to create jobs and stability?! good times are bound to come. im getting new canisters for my gas mask. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co…

Another thing worth reading from today's New York Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/03/opinio…

These 1% idiots don't even realize they are cutting off their own legs.
6
This is not a society. What society lets people die and suffer in front of them? Well i suppose the animal kingdom. Maybe the GOP should stop watching animal planet.
7
Chicago Fan, it becomes Tragedy of the commons http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_… get it before its gone and someone else has it and by any means necessary. We are such an advanced species!
8
What about the median CEO salary rather than average? Is this rise due to every CEO grubbing for 10x as big a share as before, or just to the top (the 1% of the 1%) CEOs reaching for truly astounding levels of greed?
9
A smaller percentage of American adults are gainfully employed that ever before.

Thanks to the grinding despair of Obamanomics.

If the same percentage of adults were in the workforce today as when Barack Obama took office, the unemployment rate would be 11.1 percent.

If the percentage was where it was when George W. Bush took office, the unemployment rate would be 13.1 percent.

@9 - You are bad at maths.
11
@9 If commenters were as bright at 4:47 am as they are now, we wouldn't have problems with misrepresented statistics attempting to mislead people who have made up their minds. But I guess that was 4:47 am. This is now. And what you wrote is all bull.

please, if we ere supply the correct figures....
13
while you are at it, report to Slog on the Labor Dept statistic known as U6, which is currently 15%.

The Despair of Obamanomics has driven so many people out of the labor pool that the 'official' unemployment number is misleading.

Obama- sucking the vitality out of the American Workforce since 2008!

CEO pay pales in comparison to much of what the Gen M/D/X robber barons take out of society in stock options.

So some Wall Street guy makes 4 million in a year. Or some CEO of a nuts and bolts factory makes 9 million.

What about the 28 year old who just happened to plant himself at Group on who made that in a second?

Those guys you praise, but they get far more return and deliver far less value.

Escape From the 19th Century!

@15 - No, you misunderstand (naturally). I can't supply correct figures because you have not properly defined any terms. "Percentage of adults" does not have any value without further context, which you did not provide. I suggest you copy and paste the info from your Ron Paul BBS next time, instead of transcribing it from memory.

Anyway, I was unemployed during Bush's presidency, and got a job (at a private company, no less) almost immediately after Obama took office. I have a job; Why should I care that you don't? You should get off your lazy ass go apply somewhere.

Only my data is the truth you are just too stupid to see that your stupid data is so stupid you stupid liberaltard. I love you Obama basher. Im with you, FUCK the poor, young, disabled, old, and middle class they were to stupid to get rich. GOD and Mitt know that raising the taxes on the rich to save any of their stupid lives is the Devils work and Unamerican. i only say that cause i pay 17% in taxes and need less government to be able to get a lower tax rate. As Paul Ryan says government steals the money from the rich to distribute it to the poor. That is just awful! Frankly everyone knows if the government stopped all their stupid programs the rich would more then make up for it truly saving American's live like no other War has. Not that this is a "class" war, more of a police action, and the deaths of the under/uninsured or mortality associate with lower quality of life are really just casualties of peace and order who only have them selves to blame for not succeeding. We are not a community that helps someone in need! That is not how nature works or capitalism works. We must let the weak die out to encourage only the stronger organisms to breed! That is gods plan. An evolutionary approach to mankind maybe but only the strong shall survive! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Please wait...
