The "Rob's 4 Jobs" one is also pretty unfortunate, considering some of Mr. McKenna's recent remarks.
2
“Washington State has a long history of empowering its female leaders."

Indeed. And my great-grandmother, Jeanette Testu (the one on the right, who isn't Jackie Kennedy http://www.jfklibrary.org/Asset-Viewer/A…) is one of the empowered female leaders of Washington history and I'm very proud of her and what she accomplished for the working families of Washington State.

No goddamn way she'd wear that pin.
3
A winning strategy for sure. His speech to the Washington Federation of Republican White Women had them on the edge of their seats!!!
4
Actually, I think it's kinda cool
5
I guess he just lost the unshaven womyn's vote.
6
This can't be real. I am thinking 2 thinks (shout out to Dr. Seuss). 1. Either they have information that leads them to believe that Republican women are not the horribly feminist type, or 2. They are completely stupid. Either way, offended...
7
That is so spectacularly bad, it's hard to even know what to think about it.
8
Oh, and shared it! Share it with your friends! :)

Please note. You can click "Share" and then select "Only Me" in the privacy options in case you're afraid some of your friends may see this on your wall and not get that it's a joke. I wanted to add to their Share count but feel like they'll check comments for "ironic" shares and not count those votes.

How do you figure out whether you're a woman or a chick? Is there some kind of questionnaire?
11
@10: If you're not sure, then you're a chick.
12
This should appeal to the ... uh ... women who like to eat at Chick-fil-a. Right???
13
@10 easy. If they're taking away your rights and paying you less, Comrade McKenna thinks you're a Chick.
14
Is this from Mad Men because who calls a woman a chick?
15

I can't believe someone would propose a campaign bottom like that in 2012.

Truly bizarre.
16
oh my heck! that lil chicklit is just adorable! i dont even care about his stance on union rights anymore!
17
Chicks? Seriously? And the pink?
What a fucking dumbass. I'd be curious what his definition of empowerment is - allowing women out of the home to get groceries?
18
Campaign bottom?
19
Button.

Stupid iPhone autocorrect.
20
Those broads are going to love this button! Amirite?
21
Rob McKenna makes a good campaign bottom? Freudian auto-correct
22
He'll capture the youth vote when he unveils his "Bitchez who got Rob's back" button.
23
Rob's never been all that good at wooing the ladies. Which is why he's so against Equal Marriage. I mean, if he can't get laid, why should we?
24
How about "Broads for Bob." Even classier!
25
Westello, women were called chicks in the supposedly egalitarian 70s, when no one was getting married because it was too traditional and kids were being dressed in genderless clothes. Women have been called chicks since then. Things have not gotten that much better, especially in the Republican world.
26
@25--not really, as far as I recall. Were you actually sentient in the '70s or does your login name represent your birth year?
27
@18 autocorrect wasn't wrong.
28
Chicks is condescending to women. But destroying their healthcare is o.k. so it's a wash.
29
Home-Boyz for Rob?
30
'Rob is my wingman' he'll get all the beer commercial votes
31
@2 Thanks for sharing that. This state indeed has a wonderful tradition of women in leadership positions. It's one of the many reasons that makes this a great place to live.

Anyone else have stories of Washington "chicks" who lead, rather than follow geeks like McKenna?
32
This is a Slog joke, right? Tell me this is a joke.
33
i don't even like the pink that Planned Parenthood uses. or Komen. wtf is it with pink?! DEFINITELY don't like this pink.
34
on second thought, Robbie-poo probably doesn't even want to get the attention of the kind of woman who'd be turned off by pink. so, it works for him.
no offense to pink-lovers out there.
35
Better to be called a chick than a bitch or ho' by the Dems base.
36
Empowering women through infantilization!
37
@31 see www.kathleendrew2012.com

Kathleen is the only democratic woman running for any of WA's 9 state executive offices this year.
In 1992, Kathleen was the youngest woman (32 years old) to be elected WA State Senator. She beat Dino Rossi. She's also the only democrat to ever win in the 5th LD... Hopefully that will change this year!

Oh, oh! Just remember the last time we fell for a "pink slogan" that proved to be working against women and for the repub/tparty that has spent more time legislating women's sexuality than any other issue. Didn't the tea party campaign on JOBS? And they've done nothing on that issue but throw poison pills at any bill that would open employment. Same here, with this pink gimmick. The repub/tparty has already shown their disdain for women, legislating horrendously against women's privates. How dare they. The women who fought for our voting rights are turning in their graves that we're letting the repub/tparty throw these laws in our way. It's not an issue of abortion, pro or con, it's an issue of CHOICE. Note that they don't call it as it is but use 'abortion' as their path to getting us in a dither. The issue is CHOICE, nothing else but CHOICE. If they get in, how many of us will suffer at their hands.

Please wait...
