We went to this a couple of years ago and had a great time. I'm like you, Paul, and hate interactive theater, but still I played along and sang the bawdy songs from the songbook handed to me by a BOOM pirate in Ye Olde Tavern.

Renaissance fairs are great fun. Like a county fair but without the flashing lights and much better people-watching.

I learned so much at Camlann the year I went, especially about the art of arrow-making (fletchery?). Fascinating, engaging stuff, and well worth it.

If you go, make sure to catch the jousting tournament at 11am and 4pm, and the gypsy trick riding show at 2pm! Really cool! And they let you meet the horses and pet the knights afterward! Or is it the other way around?
