It would be more fun if it looked like one of the apartment buildings on "The jetsons"

The other day I was in a meeting on the 32nd floor of the SMT when I saw what I think was a bee on the outside of the window. Can they fly that high?

And FWIW, We're doing our part. There's a bumblebee hive in the frame of our hot tub. Everyone is peacefully co-existing.

So according to Lib Theology, Colony Collapse Disorder is just a bunch of bees leaving the rural areas to live in smaller, hipper, urban dwellings that are much more "flyable" and yet have less space per sq. millimeter for each bee?

@ 1, that's nice, but bumblebees are the ones dying off. Just in case you thought they were the same...

Probably wouldn't work in Seattle. Birds of prey will often use the highest point to perch on. It might take a while for eagles and hawks to learn to avoid these things, unless it pisses off the bee's so much that they move their hive somewhere else.

I'm getting sort of an imperialistic vibe from that flag. It's a little unnerving.

@3: You mean bumblebees AREN'T dying off? Anyway, beekeeping deals with European honey bees. FYI.

Matt dear, I said I was doing my part. What do I look like? A beekeeper?

The only thing that kept me from getting out the Raid was that our uber gardener neighbor said whatever kind of bee it is will naturally die off in a few weeks. I'm biding my time.

@5 - Nonsense. The queen (forever may she lay industrious workers) has no current intentions to spread her glorious reign of honey into human lands. And if she did, we should be grateful for her benevolent leadership. Leave your windows open tonight.

Please wait...
