You better spoiler alert anything you post about it after! I am among the MANY who intend to go into BB hibernation until we can down the whole year in one swallow.
2
Fun fact-The fake meth produced for the show "tastes like cotton candy". The cast and crew can't seem to help themselves from sneaking tastes.
3
I'm pissed cause Dish Network dropped AMC and I'll have to wait for the dvds of the season to be released:(
4
I fail to understand the draw of a viewing party. I can understand in someone's home, because everyone will be quiet, but isn't there a lot of noise at these things when it's in a bar? I think I would find the whole thing frustrating.

@1, 3--A season pass on iTunes costs $14 ($22 if you want hi-def) and you can download the episode first thing the morning after it airs on A&E.

6
@4 It's funny you bring that up. I suppose it all depends on the ratio of patrons looking to watch the show vs. patrons who don't give a shit.

A few years back, there was a bar in the U-District where a bunch of people would show up every Thursday at 10 to watch new episodes of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. The place was loud any other time, but for the duration of the episode everyone clammed up and paid attention. My point is, viewing parties at bars can work.
7
Paul, just BYOB and ride the train to my place, you just have to wait until I finish watching ture blood. Sporting events in bars = good, serial TV in bars = bad.
8
This would be a great idea for places like Central Cinema or The Big Picture. I hear weekly serial films used to be a big draw, back in the day. I wonder if it would be a big hastle to work out a payment deal with A&E.
9
@5. thank you, but that does me no good. "Down the whole year in one swallow" is different from "watch week by week by week by....".
10
S'all good, man.
11
@8,

It would be; I know the Alamo Drafthouse screened episodes of Battlestar Gallactica, but Central Cinema only does the first and last episodes of a season.

@9 which is why I hate to get into shows like Breaking Bad. Not that I don't absolutely love it, but there are to few of them that ever make it to a proper, satisfying end.

A show with one huge story arch has only 2 ways to go lately...either the show gets cancelled long before the satisfying conclusion (See: Stargate Universe) or it goes so long past the point where the satisfying conclusion should've reached because "Hey! High ratings! Why stop now?!" (See: Weeds) that you get to the point that they just have to Deus Ex Machina the shit out of it (See: Lost).

I prefer shows with an interesting arch, but each show does well individually. I would use Burn Notice as the example for that, but it's been a while since I've ever caught an episode.

That said, I took the chance and started watching Breaking Bad and I'm excited for its conclusion though I will probably do what gloomy gus is doing. (And yes, my taste in shows is terrible, blah blah blah)

check out torrents, chubs.

i get then pst an hour before it's even aired
14
Netfilx is dragging ass on airing last season. It chapps my hide.
15
Central Cinema is showing the premiere along with last season's finale. With beer.
16
@14 Yes! I demand prompt "well after everyone else has watched them" service for my $8/month... And would it kill them to post season 2 of The Walking Dead? Or the latest series of Torchwood?
17
For the Philadelphians- we're showing it at the Interstate Draft House in Fishtown!
18
@13, that would be illegal. I think people are generally looking for legal ways to watch it, not ways that involve potentially getting sued by the copyright holders for distribution (because, if you're getting it via torrent, you're also distributing it to hundreds of others).
19
Com on portland! What about mcmenimins or others? Us dish customers are skrewed and we want to have fun, blue drinks and SW spicy stuff! After all I have green chili's in my freezer!

@6 Was that at Big Time in the U District? We totally used to watch It's Always Sunny there.

Please wait...
