Damn wish I was downtown free money
2
Well, I suppose It's nice to know that all that money the 99% donated to Occupy is being used for something more than just posting bail and buying donuts.
3
That's very Evita of them.
4
Irony is lost on them, apparently.
5
Shades of Henry Sugar.
6
More Abbie Hoffman than Evita. And nowhere near as effective, alas.
7
Fun! What building?
8
@5 that brought me back to late nights, staring really hard into candle as a kid, in the off chance that I could learn to read through cards.
9
@7

The caption on the photo in the article Mr Frizzelle linked to says it was the Roosevelt Hotel.
10
So they were makin' it rain? Were there strippers there too?
11
I live literally TWO fucking blocks away and have been home all day. What the mutherfucking what!?!??? fuckshitfuck!!!godamnshitfuckinfuckerfuckfuckfuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12
Unfortunately, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Howard Schultz were walking down the street at that moment, and ordered their entourages of hourly workers to scoop it up, capturing $4975 of the loot.
13
@12 - Oh, snap!
14
Really, really stupid. Strike up the drum circle!

That's why they need someone in charge of the Occupy Movement. Someone who can provide a little QC for these ideas. Just incredibly dumb.
15
Hehehehe This is brilliant! Everytime someone tries something likes this the comments are always the same.

The chock that someone would ignore cash value is so great that people become upset. Its brilliant and kinda proves a point - although not the one OCW wanted - concerning the way people will react when something they place value in and base a large part of their personal life in is "mistreated".

Kinda fun to watch. Perhaps I should stay in today and just read this thread as some kind of sociological study of what happens when something "holy" is made profane and then length we go to protect it.

("this is really stupid", "they should have used that money", "lolz they should have given it to me" to be expected though so at one point I'm hoping for a "Leave money alone!" youtube link or something)
16
I'll give them credit for doing something that doesnt involve blocking street traffic, damaging property and taunting the police.
17
Here is some video from the money drop:

18
@4 I doubt it.
19
Big fuckin' deal. Bill Drummond burned a million pounds (and regrets it, or his family does).
20
I think The KLF bought more street cred with it than Occupy Seattle did, too.
21
@15 You need help.
22
Nobody cares about Occupy Anything. They burned their bridges months ago.
23
@19

I'm too lazy to Google that so I am assuming you're talking about the old guy from Different Strokes.
24
@23, see @20 for the hint you may be looking for.
25
there's no possible way I could be joking, right?
26
That was Mic Check Wall Street, not Occupy.
27
nor I.
28
@26, "that was Seattle's Best Coffee, not Starbucks".
29
for those of you who missed it there will be a repeat from the same building 5pm today.
Occupy is out of cash but will obligingly piss off the building.
30
I guess they pooled their trust funds.

It would have been fun to watch the crackheads scramble.

Please wait...
