Somehow that seems so stereotypical, a divorced Jewish man (somehow there's no such thing as an undivorced Jewish man) who somehow can't keep his ex-wife out of his life. That's so wretched an existence. My heart bleeds for you.
Dang, @4, I thought I was an asshole sometimes - that takes the cake. In my family we sort of have a tradition of ignoring the exes from flings but staying pretty good friends with the big ones. My sister, last time she moved three ex-boyfriends and an ex-husband showed up to help her and her husband move. If that's not friendly I don't know what is.
You, though - in your case I'd hazard a guess that there may be a good reason the norm for you is permanent estrangement.
In describing Litzow, RELATIVELY, is the correct word. Only in the era of the Tea Party could he be called a moderate. Anti-labor, anti-public employee and anti-teacher, he supports siphoning money out of our underfunded public schools to open the door for charters schools without any public oversight. Now he will call them public charter schools, but that's only because the money is public money. The management of these schools will be private and secretive.
New Gallup poll (http://bit.ly/KMlXg4) shows that while fewer Americans identify as pro-choice, support for abortion rights isn’t dropping.
Abortion is a tough subject, and labels like “pro-choice” and “pro-life” simply don’t reflect the complexity of how most people actually think and feel about it. When you take away the labels, 77% of Americans still believe it should be safe, legal, and accessible in all or some circumstances.
When it becomes "safe" for the million babies slaughtered each year we'll have made progress.
And when the not-yet-born have as much "access" to the services of professional assassins and have an equal chance of having their parents killed as their parents currently have to kill them we will be satisfied.

@5 You said it better.
You're losing.
Butt, oh; congratulations!......
