Aww they look like they used to do in the 90's thats adorable! Does american nazi's all still cling to the skinhead aesthetics too?

Let's not forget that the 1% will be celebrating their wealth with the opening of Boating Season this weekend!! That's right kids!! We get to deal with fucked up traffic as the wealthy show off their wealth!!

But honestly WHY are they still using the blackbloc tactic (I still cant grasp the point its like the football boys with their casual fashion, it just defines your purpose and makes you an easy arrest)?

And why on May 1st? For me its like trying to riot on christmas lunch. Here its a family thing, you bring the kids into town to protest and then hang out in the sun with snacks, music and perhaps a party afterwards.

Is it wierd to wonder why? I mean I guess I'm more positive to the whole thing than the majority of the readers of the Stranger but I still don't get it? Why riot on our day? Why use Blackbloc? Gah...

Those black bloc people...so sexy, so strong, so impactful! They inspire me to be a better person and to bring about change by smashing things! I like their Nikes! YAAAAAY BLACK BLOC!!!!

@4

They dress up and break stuff on May Day to shake people out of their routine complacency, because it is traditional to dress up and break stuff on May Day to shake people out of their routine complacency.

Would George Zimmerman have shot any of these white kids in their black hoods?

@6, how about trying nudity to "shake people out of their routine complacency"? I probably don't want to see any of these people without their clothes on, but it's still against the law, they'd still get arrested, they'd get their asses in the paper...they just wouldn't be able to maintain their anonymity. It's the cowardice, I think, that bothers me the most. Brave people advocate in the open for the things they want to change.

@9

Look, this is the way it's always been done, it's traditional. You have fireworks on the fourth of July, you hunt for candy on Easter, and you dress up in historical costume and ritualistically smash stuff on May Day. In order to surprise people.

Points for Beastie Boys at the end.

The guy on the right is really sticking it to the man by protesting in a designer Rocawear hoodie.

Please wait...
