Let's also hear from her son, who I hear is a big fan of musical theater.
2
Sucks when someone makes your family life their business, doesn't it?

@2 beautiful

Is there really any doubt why this woman is hell bent on keeping other people from being able to marry? She played by conservative rules, but didn't get her reward. Sure, she got knocked up in college, but she chose to keep the baby and expected the father to do the "right" thing.

Keep in mind that conservatives don't really have a problem with premarital sex. They have a problem with using birth control and not getting married if the woman gets pregnant.

Unsurprisingly, since she's a hideous person, both inside and out, the baby daddy wasn't interested in marrying her. And she's also been unable to find any other man willing to marry her for love.

So, yeah. She's down with loving marriages. Nothing unexpected about that.
5
I know where that dude is! Her husband is hanging out in SeattleBlues's house in Italy.
6
Absolutely priceless!

I'd never thought about her being married (simply assumed it) except to wonder why a married woman would be so bitter if straight marriage is so sacred, fulfilling (yadda fucking yadda), but it all makes sense now.

Also, should she actually BE married, then WHY isn't she going by the ever-so-traditional Mrs. Roman Srivastav? Huh, Maggie? Why not???

::laughs uproariously::
Nope, not schadenfreude at all.
7
Brillant!
8
I wasn't aware that Mrs. Srivastav has never been photographed with her (alleged) husband. Then again, I do my best to avoid seeing pictures of her, so I've never looked.
9
Would you want to be seen in public with her? She needed a husband, he needed a green card...
10
@4,

Wait, she's *not* down with loving marriages. Oh, screw it. I don't know how the kids talk these days.
11
Did he even read this after he typed it?

Sure, this guy has good points, and it's all quite amusing. Still….the numerous grammatical errors and lazy typing mistakes are nearly unforgiveable.

Maggie has settled all these questions over on Christwire:

11: I thought about sprucing it up, but dude's a national political player, so I stayed verbatim. Hopefully, that'll learn him.
14
@5 the dom/sub shame games they play are probably hot as fuck.
15
@12, holy shit, her photoshop skills are TERRIBLE. I'm willing to bet she's never been in the same time zone as that poor man, much less stood next to him for a genuine photo together.
16
I dunno, while I agree in essence, isn't this also a little like saying that people without children can't be child psychologists or pediatricians or nannies?

Again, I agree that this woman is awful and what she stands for is atrocious, but the argument laid against her here is a little weak. It's like saying that just because someone is divorced that they're ruined and will never have another shot at a happy marriage.
17
Fnarf,
Fucking Hell. That was for real?!?
I started pulling out a couple of lines that I thought were incredible, but as I got further into it, I had to stop or else I’d end up just quoting the whole thing. That was… wow. Just: wow. That is crazy.
18
@12 Awesome. Um, I think. Umm... if that's parody.

Unfortunately, Poe's Law burned out some important piece of my brain some time ago. (I forget which part.)
19
@16,

I think it's fair, but, as I already stated, I think her raging hatred toward gays and her determination not to let them marry is at least partly inspired by no one wanting to marry her.
20
@12: I don't think I've ever read anything as gloriously self-deluded as that article. Every sentence is a treasure trove of WTFuckery.
21
Ah, it took Wikipedia to learn me it's a parody site. Fuck Poe's Law, Mr. Poe and whichever Charlie Crist lookalike Mr. Poe is banging right now.
22
@21 yeah, I just figured that out too, after reading an article on there about Ann Romney.
23
God bless Christwire.
I hitched up my skirt and wiped my parts clean with a greasy Burger King bag I found on the ground. A few weeks later I received confirmation from my doctor that I was indeed with child.
24
Oh, and I think it's perfectly obvious that Mags's bogus "marriage" is defrauding the INS.
25
Damn you, Poe's Law!
26
Some time ago I saw a series of videos that covered an entire evening "discussion" between Maggie and John Corvino (one of those "talks with" events on stage, that run about ninety minutes), in preparation for their co-authored book on same sex marriage. At one point in the "discussion" she talked about the history of her decade of unwed motherhood. It was perfectly clear from her body language and from the choice and pacing of her language that she has edited her story quite heavily. I don't doubt that there's been heavy editing around her claims of marriage to Raman Srivastav, too. When I see the marriage license, I'll believe it. In the meantime, I think she's emitting enormous flatulent amounts of bovine effluent.
27
@12 etc.
The line that sets it all up:
"As a Yale grad and a Virgo, I’ve always been perspicacious."
28
The comments are priceless. And weirder than I'm used to.
29
I love Christwire (especially the comments from people struggling to figure out the nature of the site, but better still, the ones who think it's real and actually agree). I wasted a whole afternoon over there one day...
30
@12: LO-fucking-L

Intelius says there is a Raman Srivastav, age 53, who is related to Margaret A Gallagher. He's had addresses in Potomac, MD, Reston, VA, Ossining, NY, Bronxville NY,....

Please wait...
