@17: You're right, satire has no place in political discourse. Unreasonable views held by unreasonable people should be accommodated instead of mocked. It's totally possible to convince someone that they're wrong using factual, logical arguments when they believe that Earth was created after our earliest fossils of human beings, that atheists want Sharia law, that forcing pregnancy on a rape victim/survivor is totally cool, that stalking and gunning down a Black teenager should be legal, that Obama's birth certificate is fake, that climate scientists are universally part of a massive international conspiracy to lie about global warming... Do I need to keep going?
