Santorum didn't make hay in Illinois over the Catholic high school he attended there, but there were protesters from that high school outside his speech.

Has anybody ever asked Santorum to provide some kind of evidence of the specific problems being caused by these porn peddlers he's convinced are targeting children? You'd think that, if a prominent politician was howling so enthusiastically about some sort of dire threat or another, someone, somewhere, would be at least a little interested in asking him to support his claims. Or does Rick keep himself insulated enough from the media that nobody ever has a chance?

@Zebes: No one took him seriously enough until recently to bother with any questions, but our media don't seem to ask these sort of questions very much to any of the candidates. Romney keeps saying Obama apologizes for America, but no journalists asks him to cite dates, times, places when such apologies took place.

And about the death penalty. The Catholic Church is OK about child fucking, but is flat out against capital punishment. Santorum supports it (although says it should be limited). Oh, he also lies and says the Catholic church wants it limited. They don't. They want it aboloshed.

It isn't a statement that is meant to be considered intellectually.
It is "what about the children?!?" combined with "Obama is not good".

It works at getting the base (who hate Obama) excited.

But, as demonstrated on that radio show, if you bring any kind of intellectual examination to it Santorum gets irritated and refuses to answer any non-softball questions.

He does have intellectual consistency. It's frothy.

"OMG! Porn! Think of the children!"

Mind you, we're talking about adult porn, made for adults, starring adults, and Santorum is whining his imaginary mumblesomething about children. But when asked about real adults (priests, assistant coaches) fucking actual little children in their care, and his very own church and school actually covering it up and actively obstructing prosecution, he seems totally disinterested.

At some point it's no longer adequate to call someone like him a hypocrite. The word is far too overused and diluted. "Evil flaming bag of sanctimonious shit," might come a little closer to what he is.

One more thought. If porn (made for adults, starring adults, restricted only to be sold to adults, etc.) by its mere existence endangers the lives of children, umm... you know... uh... what about guns?

I don't hear him making the argument that guns (made for adults, sold to adults, proper restrictions, blah, blah, etc.) endanger children. If he was serious about child safety... well, never mind. He's clearly not.

Wow, that interviewer was really insulting. His question was almost like equating gay marriage with bestiality... or something.

I am not surprised that Rickie Sanctorum is put off by questions about priest rape. Look at those dead eyes of his and listen to the tortured soul crying out from inside him.

Rickie was "chose" by his parish priest to perform very special services. Now Rickie knows this means he is a special chosen one to God. Sadly, he also knows from training that all sex is dirty and evil and sinful. The conflict has eaten at him ever since.

Really sad that we live in a political climate where a presidential candidate can not roundly denounce the rape of children, and the apathy of the adults who were supposed to protect them, because it might hurt his career/campaign donations.

A vote for Rick Santorum is a vote for the vatican, plain and simple. The man can not enforce the seperation of church and state because he does not think they should be seperated.
