How do emo people maintain their pallor in the desert?
3
Sounds like a Santorum and American Family Association wet dream. They'd do it if they thought they could get away with it.

I hate posting comments on the slog, because it's a pain in the ass. However, the idiocy of Mr. Charles Mudede has to be addressed. Listen you moron, when you post a link to an article can you at least have the intelligence and common decency to post the link to the BEGINNING of the article? If I'm taking the time to link to the referenced story can I at least be linked to the BEGINNING, rather then the end???

is your contention that Shia youth were safer, or more free, under a baathist sunni dictatorship that appeared to be heading for a generational transfer as in Syria?

this is a case where both oppressors (Hussein, Shiite Mullahs) suck.

Naaaaw Kelly have to flip pages... oh my god. Life is collapsing around us. No wonder its such a problem for you to post on slog - I mean you have to first of all WRITE something, then you have to click a green little button (its tiny)... and THEN even worse you have to wait a few seconds and click another one...

Who cares about Emos in Iraq when this kind of horrendous shit is going on? I mean honestly! Kellys granddad didn't go off and fight in wars in someplace else for him/her to have to stand for this crap!

@Charles I would say your as bad as hitler for linking to the wrong page! Consider poor Kelly for once in your life! For shame!

... I would like us all to have a moment of silence for Kelly and his/her obvious struggles with things like going back in articles and posting on Slog.

I am not surprised. Now bring the rest of the troops home.

Your statement is in serious need of perspective Charles. Under Saddam, in 1988, he slaughtered 50,000 people. In April 1991, a conservative estimate of deaths due to his genocidal programs was 80,000. With just these two instances, in which the lowest estimate of deaths were taken, that equates to roughly (very roughly) 15 people per day.

This does not count the daily executions, kidnappings, or systematic tortures and rapes. Considering how Baltimore has roughly a murder a day, as tragic as it is, fourteen in three weeks does not really warrant a "see it was better under Saddam!" argument.

While the intelligence was overblown and the war unjustified, the argument you are making is vapid and lacks any kind of educated perspective.
9
Oh, I should probably clarify, that is 15 people on average per day, every day of his rule, from 1979-2003, just from these two episodes.

Wait a minute. Being 'emo' is a choice, right? (Maybe Robert Smith was born that way, but for the most part it's a phase.) Not quite a capital offense, but I can't say I object to slapping some sense into the kids now and then. They're barbarians!

See? That's what you get, Kelly.

Please wait...
