The owner of our company left just as the party shifted to the drinking crowd taking over, letting the employees enjoy the open bar.
We had one supervisor try to convince about 5 people to do body shots on the bar. Since no employees would bite, his wife was the good sport.
A human boss is something I treasure.

In my experience the trouble is with bosses who aren't stoned and drunk very often, then go all out at the party - they're the unpredictable ones. Not a problem at your workplace, obvs.

I've never worked for a company that didn't have at least one valued executive or manager who liked to drink hard at office parties. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I'm gonna guess that for the majority of businesspeople this advice, especially the second part, falls flat. Unless your business is a church, maybe.

Damn, I could use a job like that.

Or like anything.
