I love the people on the comments thread insisting that It Is Not Either the Exact Same Jacket, So Stop Saying That! Methinks they doth protest too much.

My guess is that it was designed as an attack on Romney to sort of remind the conservative base that he (Romney) is mormon, and therefore not a real "christian" to the evangelicals.

I'll just hide this comment that that anti-gay ad featured the music of an American gay composer, Aaron Copland. I'm sure if Paul thought it were important enough to mention, he would have been mentioned it.

@14 never mind, Alex Ross of the New Yorker has debunked that, but the "intent" of the piece to mimic Copland's "Appalachian Spring" has been noted.
