I took Maggie's advice to heart over T-day. When my aunt was talking about the gay florist she works for and how he's demanding and nit-picky and sometimes a mean jerk and he's GAY. I thought of Maggie's advice.
But I guess I failed Maggie because I pointed out that nit-picky jerks come in every flavor and that his sexuality probably had little to do with his demanding nature. I pointed out that I've worked with a large number of people who were likely gay and it's surprising how gay people have a multitude of personalities, almost like how straight people come in a multitude of personalitites.
She's smart, but really isolated in her small town.
I'd never seen Maggie G. talk before watching that video. Does she always give off such a strong lesbanian vibe? My gaydar is not very sensitive, but she really got my sensors beeping.
The only thing that shocked me about that video was that she didn't actually sprout visible horns and spew fire from her mouth. I forgot that evil isn't that overt.
I dunno, pastanut - I think it's less evil than it's just unhappiness that runs so deep that she looks like she's going to melt into a mound of unhappy goo. No wonder she can't be chill with anybody else finding love and happiness. I wish she'd clue into the fact that if she stopped being such a dick that might actually help her lighten up.
Personally, like GOProud, I think a lot of these people aren't narcissistic, but rather are so self-loathing and painfully alone that they have to lash out at something perceptually weaker or non-threatening to them. At least then when the victims start to complain and fight back, she/they can cry foul and wait for someone to open their arms to them to accept them.
Maggie: Accept yourself, first, with all your flaws and all your hatred. Love yourself and you may come to find that others will love you.
It sure does not seem like she radiates either joy or satisfaction with herself to me. Then, I don't get why someone would make it their life work to bring misery and attempt to legislate pain to others. It seems that their is something sick within her ethical core and her personal choice to base her morality on. She has my pity, but my pity for her poverty of spirit will not allow me to sit idle while she attempts to bring misery to families and deny children the protections, rights, responsibilities that the government provides when it wrongfully linked itself to marriage.
Much as I dislike Gaggie, my preference would be to reserve the "dinosaur" tag for actual, awesome dinosaurs, and not Her Loathsomeness/Joan Didion/Lou Reed/the word "utterly."
Sad thing is that she introduces her video as a way to avoid conflict during Thanksgiving, but except for the first sentence of #3, all the things she says to do will create more conflict. The correct answer was, "Let's not talk about that at dinner. Please pass the yams."
BTW, if we're restricting this thread to registered commenters, why not restrict ALL of them?

To be honest, I could easily see her wearing a Dalmatian fur coat.
