That is a whole lot better than the first one. I like it.
2
"If I become pregnant and decide that ending the pregnancy is the best course of action, I will have an abortion."

now- that's a bold stand for you.....
3
"If I become thirsty, I will have an cold one."
4
Pledges are still meaningless
5
"If I become gassy, I will rip one."
6
Where's #6? "In the interest of the future of the human race, I will only have one child."
7
3,5 - thanks for lightening things up. ;)
8
What @4 said - most people who get abortions are "pro-life" by self-identification.

Everything other than item 5 is a fricking waste of time.

With open comments this time!

So bored with this.
11
6. I will continue to give pro-lifers the moral high ground by claiming abortion is bad even if it should be legal.
12
@10 you are bored with it because it is boring. it's meaningless. it's mental masturbation.

13
The new version is stupid.
1. I pledge to do something if I decide to.
2. I pledge to "respect" something.
3. I pledge to remember something.
4. I pledge to "support" something.
5. I pledge to donate "if I am able."

14
Brandon J, was your brain aborted? the moral high ground is surrendered when those like you claim that abortion is not bad and act as if it is a procedure like going to the podiatrist to get your toe nails cut.

it's tough to be out here on the far left when it attracts so many crackpots, posers, intellectual midgets and attention starved fools. please, stop with the pledges already.
15
I can't get pregnant but that doesn't mean I don't understand the vital importance of keeping abortion a safe option. I also understand that pregnancies kill tens of thousands of women around the world that can't get needed abortions. I don't want that for America.
16
@11 - THANK YOU.
17
I liked the first one better.
18
Any serious discussion about this needs to include forced sterilization or Norplant for girls like that 15yo in Mississippi.
19
Mandatory abortions until all the orphanages are empty.

Fetuses aren't people. Children in orphanages are people. What's so messed up with putting the wellfare of real people above that of potential people?
20
mandatory abortions? tell me exactly how you see that happening, OC.
21
This is so useless.
I pledge to do things I already want to do based on my morals and beliefs!
Howsabout I pledge to change my facebook status to 'pro-choice, ask me why' and encourage every teenager I know to do so as well. Might actually stir up some conversation with people on the other side, unlike this leotarded waste of time.
22
So, we go from offensive to hippy? Meh. Pledges suck.

@13 got it right.
23
I liked the older one better. Some people are just pussies.
25
I don't...understand the point of this?

Aside: watching "small government" republicans argue about this issue and gay marriage is *hilarious*. Sup hypocrisy how you doin'?
26
@24 Ummm...FAR, HARD, REALLY HARD left here...I don't like any of this pledge crap. This is in response to a really bad idea being debated by such Republican luminaries as Pizza CEO Herman Cain and "What 3/5ths of a person?" Michelle Bachmann. Why respond to that in kind, except to be stupidly tribal?

It's like little liberals pretending to be conservatives pretending to be liberal. That's not funny.
27
This is a leotarded idea. The pro-lifers use their pledges to keep Jesus happy and save souls. What's your excuse?
28
I'm with @27. A pledge? What's next, matching t-shirts? Hysterically forwarded chain mails? All caps?

Please wait...
