Not everyone likes the cheese. My forebears are sturdy Wisconsin stock, so I'm good with it.
3
I think it's Mr Shue (as in Mr Shuester)
4
I watched the first few episodes, then I got bored. I have friends who are prodding me to start watching it again, but, like you, I may just watch on hulu where I can forward through the dreck.

"It's not Buffy or Breaking Bad good"
Um, I'm sorry, WHAT? The Buffy part, I mean. That's like saying "it's not Big Momma's House 2 good" or "it's not Joey good". You're all fucking nuts.
6
You're nuts. That version of "Ice" was GLORIOUS in its ridiculousness. That's the great thing about it; Mr. Schue is a complete and utter knob. But they almost always pick the most stoopid numbers to do. But Artie gets the best ones; his "Safety Dance" is, uh, remarkable, and if you don't cry during his "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" you have no soul.

Actually the only singer I really can't stand is Rachel, the supposed main one.

But the cheese is soooo tasty...

Fnarf, did you hear the inflection-for-inflection copy she did of that Streisand record? It made me clap and giggle, but I bet you hurled a shoe at the screen. Or just hurled.

And may I mention I find Harry Shum Jr.'s Mike Chang character ("Other Asian") absolutely riveting, even given so little to do.

Streisand, and inflection-for-inflection copies of same, cause me to go into a coma, so even though I watched it, I missed it.

Did you ever see Will Friedwald's comment about Sarah Vaughan and Barbra? "Some singers use technique to reveal emotion [Vaughan], while some use technique to conceal it [Streisand]." I can't stand her. Maybe that's why I'm not gay (well, and the willies).

My favorite character is Brittany (Heather Morris), although I fear that as she gets more attention (promoted to regular cast!) they're going to overdo her dimness and ruin it.

Oh, Heather Morris kills in that role. Unclever and slightly mean and unconcerned about having lots of sex for all kinds of reasons - a great character.

The Friedwald comment is super apt, and I think my having spent some time as a wee lad in the closet does go a long way to accounting for why I love just that concealment about Streisand. While Vaughn finds me where I am to take me with her through a song, Barbra insists I stay in the audience, project the missing elements myself, engage in idolatry. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that.

I've tried to watch about 2 episodes and just can't get into it. When they had to explain what "hairography" was supposed to mean, all I could think was how little credit the show gave its audience.

Didn't that dude used to be a werewolf or something?

Fnarf-- I know that Heather Morris had decided to start taking acting lessons, and Ryan Murphy told her she was forbidden to take any, because he loves her the way she is-- vacant, no filter, perfect timing, and never an acting lesson. She's going to be the focus of the Britney Spears episode coming up (which will also feature Spears). I'd love a couple more Brittany one-liners and a little more background, but I think if they bring her to the forefront as much as they have Rachel or Finn, it might ruin the perfection.

Personally, I want MOAR KURT.

Jessica, did you read about the Kurt-storyline addition of some pouty-lipped Bieber-haired thing named Chord Overstreet as an openly gay football star who may become Kurt's crush object if not love interest? Just look at the boy - he's so far up Dan's alley it's not even funny!

I am also from Wisconsinite stock, and as I am allergic to dairy, and therefore had to leave the state, I must get my cheese from shows like Glee (and Buffy, and Chuck, and just about everything I really love to death). I can see how the show wouldn't be for everyone (music snobs...) but I think it's really fun to watch.

Please wait...
