1
Now THAT is some aggressive panhandling!
2
Will Tim Burgess sponsor legislation to raise taxes that will be earmarked exclusively for more police officers, to deal with the fact that Seattle is now a completely out of control because of rampaging machete gangs and aggressive panhandlers?
3
This is somehow the work of the Guatemalan used-book gang, though the report ominously does not mention how many quality pre-owned hardbacks were involved here.
5
@2: yeah, give him a $50 ticket...
7
racist
8
why didnt the girlfriend just run them over or at least try to so that she could buy the boyfriend time to get in the car?
9
@8 i was thinking that too at first, then i realized i watch way too many movies
10
I walked past that location on Sunday afternoon.

It's time to strip search all the rich people with houseboats and yachts to make our citizens safe!
11
I like that he tried to haggle. Will you take a $5? Here, a $10 and a coupon for a free doughnut.
12
Were they Juggalos?
13
Good God, the China Harbor! This joint is just up the street from the office and has always been kind of a mystery. How does it survive? It sure as shit isn't the food. I've always imagined that they bring in kilos of pure blow that they deliver via submarine to China Harbor's underwater bunker on Lake Union. It'd explain how they stay in businesses.
14
@4 not all of us concealed carry fans are right wing. Imagine that!
16
Laugh all you want, but my first thought when I read this was "you would never read a news story like this here in Denver." Way too many people here have concealed carry permits for anybody to even think about pulling a stunt like this.

"An armed society is a polite society."
17
There were four dudes there you Rambos

I too am a fan of concealed carry but you don't take on 4 guys in close quarters when you have more than just yourself to protect
18
Naw, you don't have to take out four guys. Just the shithead with the machete. The other three will beat feet.
19
you're assuming the other 3 were also unarmed, just because they didn't show doesn't mean they weren't
20
They may or may not have been "armed," but if they had anything more imposing than a machete, it's probably safe to assume they would have used that.

Besides, it's kind of bad form to take someone out if you can't see a weapon. Juries sorta frown on that.
21
how is it that I as the conservative Republican am the voice of restraint here
22
Yeah, nobody ever fucks with anyone in Denver:

23
Why didn't he just bend down and flap his arms clucking like a chicken while alternately yelling "Pancakes!" Works every time.
25
Point of order: do machetes actually have points?
26
"how does the China Harbor survive"

actually, I've been at six office parties there for three different workplaces, and some job interviews and birthday parties as well. It never feels full, but people seem to like it, and it can have a sexy vibe sometimes.
27
@WIS: "it can have a sexy vibe sometimes."

OMG eww, talk about Toxic items not stored properly, Poor personal hygiene practices and Failure to correct repeated violations.

Will, you've just single-handedly killed that business...
29
Not only is it a dangerous place because of the crime but check out all their violations from the health department last week!
30
Another non-right wing concealed carry permit holder chiming in to say I that I would have drawn down on the machete guy, greased anyone that made a move toward me, and called 911 while they all ran away.

These days I'm carrying more and more often.

Please wait...
