Do they go together well? Very much so yes. The sweet of the maple and the salty of the bacon compliment each other in ways that cant be described.

For a similar fun treat, wrap a piece of peanut butter fudge in prosciutto.
2
Do they go together? Hell yeah they go together! But you'll never know, and for that I am truly sorry.
3
YES!!
They have amazing bacon maple bars at Voodoo Donuts in Portland. Yum!
4
They go together exceptionally well!
5
Yeah, I had some bacon ice cream that had maple overtones with the bacon. I seriously shot 6 loads out of my dick it was so fucking amazing!!
6
Yes. Bacon is frequently flavored with maple syrup. You can buy it that way, or you can just let the syrup slop over from your pancakes (but I don't like pancakes, so there you go).
7
You better BELIEVE it, Dave! Add some all-natural peanut butter, put the whole mess on raisin bread, and you've got a PERFECT SANDWICH!
8
Crispy bacon that's nestled a bit against a stack of pancakes dripping with maple syrup is my second-favorite thing to put in my mouth.
9
Yet another food that Fnarf doesn't like. Why am I not surprised?
10
Don't they mean the Seattle ______ Invitationals?

And I haven't eaten bacon in 15 years, but goddamn those things definitely go together well.
11
The maple bacon bar is my favorite donut at Voodoo Donuts. I'm glad Seattle finally has its own version!
12
If you need a bacon free culinary tribute to The King, this month Cupcake Royale has the Velvet Elvis cupcake with banana cake and peanut butter fudge frosting.
13
Throw a fried egg on top of that and you've got yourself a hell of a meal there!
14
@ 13: Thanks, Urgutha--I forgot about the egg!
15
Join us next week on SLOG when David Schmader asks how butter tastes on bread.
16
caramelized bacon bits = cooked bacon.

Don't try to church it up.

And you may suggest to them that they proofread their press releases. Especially if hacks are just going to post them as written, without getting the anti maple and bacon side of the story.
17
That is just wrong.

I like bacon. I like donuts. But bacon does NOT belong on donuts. At all. Period.
18
YOU'RE ALL SICK, YOU KNOW THAT?!

EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU CAN TAKE TURNS RIDING THE WIDE-END OF A SHOVEL.
19
Oh HELL yes, they go together. Voodoo Donuts in Ptown puts a whole slice on a maple bar and it is divine! I'm heading to Top Pot tomorrow! Viva Elvis!
20
BaconCAT on a maple-frosted doughnut...now that's uncharted territory!
21
Those look like Elvis' hemorrhoidal asshole. Tasty though.
22
@9, I like more kinds of foods than you do, I'll betcha. New favorite: huitlacoche, corn fungus. Mmmm on a quesadilla.
23
Big deal. Frost has had these for months. And they're fucking great.
24
That actually sounds pretty good, Fnarf - I'd certainly be willing to give it a try.
25
Goya sells it in little cans, but they're hard to find, even in Mexican tiendas. I found 'em at PCI, of all places, but you're 1,500 miles from there.

I'll bet it's good with bacon, now that I think of it.
26
Boy, you really stepped into this time, Schmader.
27
I enjoy the fact that my friend, nicknamed Jay-Elvis, will be making these doughnuts at top pot.
28
@23 So Frost does. They're also up in Mill Creek. Yikes, that's in the wilds of Snohomish county. :(

FYI: http://www.frostology.com/ Looks fatening (and delicious)
29
I have been begging Top Pot to make a maple bar w/ bacon (Like at Voodoo in PDX) for years!!!!

Getting closer Top Pot!!!
30
Geeze, what caused Baconcat to have an episode like that?... rich, savory Baconcat...
31
@28, Mill Creek is hardly the "wilds" though I do hate driving on either 164th or 527 with a burning passion. Mill Creek Town Center has some pretty damn decent food options too. Frost, Blazing Onion, Clay Pit, Spotted Cow Ice Cream, World Market....mmm....Blazing Onion....*drools*
32
@24, 25, funny, I just heard about that stuff for the first time the other day. Definitely sounds enticing.
33
Who hates maple AND doesn't eat bacon???
I don't eat donuts, but guess what I'm getting tomorrow?
Uh-huh, my donut ban (and I especially do NOT eat Top Pot donuts) will be broken tomorrow for the duration of one donut.
You should totally have one, Dave.
34
I like the concept, and love bacon and maple syrup, but have never been a fan of maple frosting. Still if I go to the Elvis Invitationals (thanks for the tip, looks fun) I'll have to have one.

I like Top Pot's donuts but they are trumped by a donut shop in my neighborhood run by a Cambodian family.
35
Yeah I love the bacon maple bars at FROST up in Millcreek Town Center. People have been lining up for months every morning to get their hand on those AMAZING delicious maple bacon bars!!! Nice to see that Top Pot caught on and put out a version.
36
Frost is so much better than Top Rot. It's sad that they're going through so much to try and hurt their business. They are mean people with ugly hearts.

38
The Elvis Presley cocktail!
1 oz Bakon vodka
1/2 hazelnut or amaretto liqueur (or Castries Peanut Creme if you can find it)
1/2 banana liqueur
splash of cream

Viola!!!

Please wait...
