Loveschild quietly weeps and plans her move to Idaho.

Whoa, what's with veterans? Did anyone see that breakout?

Or should we stop grouping veterans in with conservative groups and put them in with independent and moderate groups?
3
Okay, when I read this headline I thought that President Obama had released a statement in favor of the partnership bill, and I got really excited.

The reality feels kind of disappointing, just by comparison. But still exciting!

We still have to make sure we win this in November.
5
Our #1 problem will be the confusion issue. Hammer it home to everyone: the only thing you need to know at this point is YES on R71. period.
6
@5: Go tweet that right now and ask for a retweet.
7
three weeks before the vote Prop 8 was losing by 17% points.

This is great news but #4 is correct we cannot become complacent. The other side wants to take away the rights of not only LGBT couples but unmarried senior couples who because of pension and other benefits cannot get married. We all need to work hard to protect all Washington Families. Make sure every person you know votes and votes to APPROVE Referendum 71.

Washington Families Standing Together www.wafst.org is working hard but needs your time and money, to ensure a win.

If you are going to Bumbershoot this weekend print out a pledge form and collect names of supportive people, and send them to the campaign. Talk to your friends, families and co-workers about how the Domestic Partnership Bill will affect your family and the families of those you love.

Together we will win this fight.

So Eli,

Are you telling us that
R71 is DOOMED?

Because Dom already gave us that news several weeks ago.
10
SLOG: You need to put a banner at the top of the page that reads: YES ON R71 IF YOU <3 TEH GAYS

because it seriously took me awhile to figure out which way i will vote......

all these stupid organization names in washington state confuse the fuck out of me...they are all generic pro-family names that could mean bigot or pro-gay marriage but there is no real easy way to tell....

@1:

I hear there's plenty of property in the Hayden Lake area going for next-to-nothing. We should find her a good real-estate broker, stat.

Meanwhile in Vermont, it's been legal to be a gay married couple for days and nobody really cares.

Wow.

Why are we wasting time listening to people who want Americans to live in Fear. Americans are made of sterner stuff than that. We refuse to live in Fear.

Except for that scary WWF 9-11 thing. Oh my. Fear! I must live in Fear!

actually the whole issue is confusing to most people - if it's No yesterday it's Yes today but what if it's an alternate Tuesday?
13
@12 but we won in vermont, i mean, there really isn't anything more to say about it then a one word "yay!" .....plus there are so many battles to continue fighting....lingering in one place shows that supporters are satisfied and we don't really want a "second helping of gay casserole" in any other states.

I think my general disinterest in celebrating vermont excessively stems from this video: http://is.gd/2O7Nh which shows an older lesbian couple who are underwhelmingly excited....come on guys....stand up and dance a little....if you aren't excited...how am i supposed be?
14
Well, I trust Vote Bot will explain which way is which on this issue.
15
The confusion factor will be huge.

My registered domestic partner was all set to vote 'no' on this until I sat him down and explained that he needed to vote 'yes' to keep our rights.

I shudder to think of how confusing this will be to people who don't really pay all that much attention to the issue.
16
"If their finding holds, it should spell defeat for those trying to overturn the state's new domestic partnership benefits via R-71."

god- do you people ever get embarrassed at the shit you put out?
this is about the 20th time slog has declared this DEAD...
17
Time to have some explanation brochures for parties then - and stickers for the gay bars too.

No sense in not having fun, but make sure you do outreach to ALL your friends and relatives and other communities, ok?
18
The problem here is old people vote, young people don't. Whether or not that's reflected in these numbers, I don't know, but we shouldn't take this good news at face value and not prepare for the fight ahead.
19
15
please adopt, don't dare let your retarded - I mean registered-partner breed....
20
Actually, our message is simple: Ask people to vote Yes for Washington Families. No confusion there.

Please wait...
