Time until some right wing wacko will claim that "Obamacare" will pay for sex change operations in 5,4,3...
2
great vid!
3
@ 1: "Pay for"? What do you mean, "pay for"? "Mandate" is more like it! Great vid. Best wishes.
5
Brilliant!!! Lovesit.
6
At best it's a mildly amusing parody, but irrefutably a slap on face on our transgender community struggling for acceptance.
7
6:

Yeah? i dunno. . . I guess fun is fun and snark is snark. Not everything has to be a slight to the "community", no?
8
I guess I like seeing trans peeps ANYWHERE that isn't the tired images mainstream media sensationalize - The middle aged, somewhat conservative "mans-man" transition to a woman. . . There are so many other ways to navigate the world.

FTMs - EXIST!

If peeps like the vid. . . Calperina Adams did a "Bad Questions" video a while back. . . pretty funny:

http://www.calpernia.com/calpernia’s-list-of-bad-questions-to-ask-a-transsexual-person/
10
i'd like to add "what's with trannies and neck bandanas?" to the list of questions.
11
@6 Oh the community! Won't someone think of the community!
12
@10 I always assumed it was to hide presence of / lack of an adam's apple.
13
@1: Actually, I believe that in Ontario, the provincial health plan does cover for sex change operations. I think it was announced last year that coverage would "resume" so apparently we've covered it before too.

At the time, the health minister said he expected only 8-10 individuals to qualify -- all applicants for coverage must undergo psychological evaluation -- and the total cost to the government to be about $200,000 a year.

So yeah. Fearmongering: sort of justified!

What I heard:
"Don't ask trans people any questions, as they despise and judge those not like them, and will only ramble narcissistically (and since there are no jump-cuts in real life, this will be far less entertaining and far more awkward than it appears in this video)"
15
@7:

True, thx.
16
@ 14:

Got privilege?
17
@ 12:

maybe so. . . although you do realize everyone has an "Adam's apple" right?

(It's just that testosterone during male puberty makes it more prominent than the girls / women.)
18
@11:

:) - right.

"If you've met one trans person, you've met one trans person."
19
This is a really good YouTube series featuring two trannies (one ftm, one mtf) who discuss a lot of transgender-related issues (and non-transgender issues). It's a little less sarcastic (but still funny) and a little more straightforward.

"Trannystar Galactica"

They didn't ACTUALLY answer shit. That was annoying, and I just wasted 8 minutes of my life on it. I want my 8 minutes back.
21
@20 &14 um, i think the point was that they don't have to answer any of those questions and it's actually totally weird to ask a stranger what surgery he/she/ze has had on her/his/hir own personal gentials, or what their (ug) private personal history is, even if we cis peeps have some sort of curiosity about it. It's like if I made a video about people who ask me annoying personal questions about my tattoos or complaining about annoying customers at work, except a lot more loaded and like, even less of people's business. Maybe more of an in-joke than answering your questions about transexual issues. Hi Callie!
22
Okay, I wasn't expecting much, but that was so *cool*.
23
This is an adorable vid. So many funnies I'm not going to even recite them. I'm curious and ignorant about trannies, but I don't mind not getting serious answers. the "I don't understand the question" was an answer. I'm starting to realise now that being trans isn't always about being in the wrong body, but about not being enslaved to the gender society slaps on you because of your sex. I hope you two do more vids. but remember, Americans, what Oscar Wilde says about sarcasm.
24
Oh, and by the way, the Cuban government has started providing sex change operations to its citizens. You have to do a hormone test, and the government pays. Once US citizens are allowed to visit, I predict sex change operations will be one of Cuba's biggest exports.
25
@10 I think the real question is "what's with HIPSTERS and neck bandannas". Those were the most hipstery trannies I've ever seen.

Please wait...
