WTF are you talking about Carollani? Seattle is one of the least tagged major cities in the world. In this town there isn't much graffiti that ISN'T art.
I'm a big fan of graffiti art, but the graffiti scene in Seattle (and WA) is 95% shit and 5% art. Tagging is not art. Learn to draw basic geometric shapes before you spray a building.
@13/14: No, I believe you are misinterpreting Will's comment. In fact, he is just stupid and craves attention. His comment actually makes no sense whatsoever, since threatening to vandalize someone's home in no way responds to the assertion that tagging and graffiti are distinct phenomena. It is also an empty threat, since there is so far little to no evidence that Will has ever actually done anything other than talk.
gurldogg, thanks for the links (though there are some sad ass trashy tags among those pics IMHO, and a whole lot of culturejamming , which I - for - one, don't usually consider to be art. The sticker art, though, rox.
Alternative graf always sparks debate, - are you using the street to make art? ok, are you adding to the character of said street (or attached neighborhood, people, culture) by adding art, or are you contributing to the 'broken window theory' and devaluing the area? Are you using the street as canvas to make a point? because you have no other choice? as part of a revolution? to give the oppressed a voice? Always there will be conflict in answering this.
