Ask Mars Hill maybe?

I think they printed them on hemp.

I haven't seen anything...but I'm hoping that I do. I'd really like to get into with these people. I like to create conflicts. I'm notorious for it.

@1

They wouldn't know anything about it, not wanting to lose their tax exempt status by meddling in politics. Right?
6
they went straight to churches everywhere but seattle.
7
I'm in Ellensburg and haven't seen any here.

This is where Loveschild attempts to pwn us and says that "you guys spew so much hatred at me for opposing gay marriage, but since this isn't about gay marriage, I'm not signing it because it's only domestic partnerships. You guys are all cruel and hateful people."

The less the enemy knows the better. All I know is that it seems quite simple, given the intimidatory tactics that some pro gay marriage groups and individuals (Mr Holden / Mr Savage) have engaged in and the outright brutal attacks, you won't see the handing out of petitions in places where there are known opponents who can distort and slow the gathering. I believe that's the best thing to do, keeping low and out of certain areas where nothing will accomplished, nothing, focusing instead on those where there are people with receptive concerns until all the signatures needed have been gathered. Wait until R-71 is in front of you then you can make use of your citizen right and vote in favor of it or against it. I'm against it, but since I saw how many hurdles where being put in their way I have donated as a private citizen that I am because I'm in favor of our democratic process going forward not dimished and I think that they have the right to put this for referendum and let the people decide.

Baconcat, Instead of finding undemocratic ways to stop these signatures don't you think your time would be better spent in trying to explain to the people why they should not vote in favor once they see it in the voting booth? That and assuring them (if it's true only) that you wont use your domestic partnerships as a stepping stone to gay marriage. Where do you think you will end up Baconcat if you keep demonizing the other side. Lets meet in the middle of the road so that we can put these things behind us and focus on more important issues that affect all of us.

Whatever you do, don't spill vinegar on a stack of them at your local church.

That would be bad.

@9: We're demonizing you? When you... accused Dan and Terry of being child molesters or complicit in such activity? Accused Dan of being a drug addict, serial cheater and abusive parent? Accused riz of not being a good black person or lying about his race? Said at first you were for civil unions then said you were against them? Implied that not only are gay couples not ideal parents, they aren't good parents at all? Implied that no good christian would ever support gay marriage? Disowned and disavowed any teachings or sayings of Coretta Scott-King or Bayard Rustin and stated that they were not reflective of the Civil Rights Movement?

Loveschild, my dear, I believe the one demonizing you is yourself.

If there's any side that might have to convince others they are right, it's your side.

11 I have never accused Mr Savage of being a child molester, never. I have commented that there should be a mother figure in every child's life, and that as someone who advocates for open relationships he should reconsider his stance and be more careful with the child he has become a legal guardian of. That's quite different from the lie you have just posted. Mr Savage has condoned the equating of the legalization of dangerous illicit drugs with the Civil Rights Movement. I have always supported civil unions and domestic partnerships unless they're used as a stepping stone to gay marriage, I know the values I was brought up with and I know what most Civil Right elders think of preserving the traditional family.
13
Traditional family?

Um, dude, until maybe 300 years ago women were property and most marriages were between a white landowner in his 40s and a 16 year old bride.

Traditional?

Yeah, right ...

@12: "Not only for the bad example of lack of commitment to one partner that such examples give to the child but also for the danger (to the child) to being exposed to potential strangers who might harbor child molesting tendencies. Mr Savage is an avowed advocate for plural relationships and sadly his type of advocacy is a very acceptable behavior amongst gays and lesbians alike." --http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archive…

I think you know very well what you were implying.

And again, the Civil Rights elders include Bayard Rustin and Coretta Scott-King, both of whom have advocated heavily for GLBT rights, something you are again dismissing. That is what I'm talking about, which you are again diverging from, aiming instead to make a poorly-reasoned connection between Dan advocating for self-determination and the right to self-destruct without harming others.

And you've never supported civil unions and domestic partnerships. That, again, is a lie. You've always claimed support when something one step beyond appeared. You said no to civil unions when marriage was proposed on top of them (NH, for example) and you said no to domestic partnerships when civil unions were proposed.

You lie vigorously to defend the indefensible, you lie to hurt others, you lie to boost yourself. There is nothing selfless about the lies you tell, only selfishness.

It's okay, though, because although lying is a sin, we love the sinner. I hope you see the light one day.

I'm in Spokane and haven't seen it...but then again, I won't be found anywhere near the WallMarts parking lots (yes, there are multiple WallMarts here) and church gives me hives. Could be it's outside my lefty bubble.
16
P. S. Why does anyone even bother to read Loveschild's lengthy and predictably dull posts anyway?
17
@16: Same way most people pick at a scab, sure it hurts and doesn't do you any good, but it's just there.

Please wait...
