This isn't a matter of apologizing. The damage has been done.

Erica will never have the same credibility, the same perceived inherent trust, nor the same angle to speak from.

You can call us trolls all you like, fan boys and girls, but ultimately, we are realists who understand the severity of this situation beyond the juvenile backing/excuses lobbied by Erica's staff.

I agree FNARF the level of comments has certainly reached the bottom feeder level. The rules should be play the ball not the man and stick to the topic at hand.

The Erica bashing is just plain idiotic and boring. Is the objective to publicly shame her? Im sure she could care less and Im certain they're all having a laugh at the musty Stranger offices.

Im sure some commenters find it entertaining and even witty, and if so, maybe they should open their own blog where they dedicate their meaningless existence to thrashing Erika.

The Sonics, the viaduct, Mercer Street and the streetcar were/are costly commitments which should be questioned closely by those in charge of spending our money.

If Licata's public stances sometime run afoul of "Seattle way" consensus at any cost, perhaps it's for the best. At least it shows one council member isn't afraid to call them as he sees them.

What is objectionable is your insistence that not only should she be tried, not in a court of law but on a blog, but tried again on EVERY MOTHERFUCKING ARTICLE on that blog. To you, that constitutes "defense" and "condoning her crime", which suggests that whatever the fuck it is you pretend to teach, logic or law or business or anything, really, requiring brainpower or a sense of proportion aren't part of it.

oh, and i'm a professor of no tall letters, i teach in the reality place where some people live.

but i'd take time off to get together with fnarf and leaflet The Professor's office, department, and entire campus, with printouts of his douchie messages, demanding that he apologize to his students for being a monster and an emotional cripple. (i bet your girlfriends have been total basket cases by the time they left you. your wife is anorexic right? but it started after she married you, and no one knows why.)

See, the problem with Erica is that she just loves to root around in people's dirty laundry, you know, stick her nose right in it, and then hang pieces of it off a stick that she carries around the town square, all the while shaking her finger and hissing "tsk, tsk, tsk".

The funny thing is, that very same morning, she wasn't paying attention and she put her underwear on over her jeans, inside out, and she's marching around with a big shit stain for all to see.

@36, this is her job. I am required to use my real name at my job. If she or her fans don't like it, she can chose to 1) write for a paper or blog that doesn't accept comments, like Sullivan, or 2) set her posts for no comments.

Most of these comments don't appear to have any relevance to Martin Kaplan or his candidacy and instead seem to be about some vendetta against Erica Barnett by a few SLOG posters.

I wish there was another forum for this discussion so those of us interested in reading about local political races could do that without being subjected to a conversation that we don't know anything about.

This is why I tuned out of the SLOG. Soon it will just be 10 people who actually use it to call each other ass lickers or whatever.
