After looking at the online slide show, I guess you have to see the actual exhibit to find out which art is GDR and which art is FRG. Some of the GDR art is obvious, of course.
If you scratch the surface of the party-induced schmaltz and the drabness of daily existence, the GDR actually had a fascinating cultural scene that was considerably more cosmopolitan, sophisticated and independent than that other Eastern Bloc nations. It's great that the artists of the time are getting some recognition.
