lol, the best part was that god aweful garfield scene. That will be the most epic epic to have ever been overly dramatised in the history of hype and CGI.
As cringingly bad (and grudgingly funny) as it is, I have to give the creator props for making it look as if Brad Pitt actually says "Thundercats, HO-OH!" A dream I didn't know I had has come true.
The problem with videos on Slog is that you can't NOT click play, and the problem with some videos is that they're so bad that you can't stop watching.
Horrifyingly enough, it was no more terrible and awesome than the X-men/Transformers/GiJoe/Every-Other-Movie-Adapted-From-A-Cartoon. In fact, it probably would be better than most.
I used to love all these shows as a kid. Thundercats, GIJoe, Transformers, He-Man, Voltron, Robotech, Thundarr (that's two r's, Cato Younger Younger...), Mask, Visionaries, etc. But when I've see them now in random re-runs, they all seem so slow and boring and ponderous and SLOW. Was I really that pathetic as a child? Since these things were prime-time (well, kid prime-time), they must have been viewed by quite a few tots. Is everyone seriously that lame as a kid? Frightening.
Paul,
I can't believe you post this thing and just sit back and watch the comments grow without jumping in. Eveeeeiiilll, I say.
You know, the only thing this proves is WormyT needs to be hired by some Jerry Bruckheimer; he's obviously more talented than the Ass that did '300'. And besides they made money off Transformers.
All in all: neat. From all the mash-ups and fanvid editing of TV shows to music, Youtube will soon outdistance Hollywood in terms of creativity and attention-grabbing: if i did the math right, this clip has generated 3,000+ hrs (roughly 25 screenings of a 2hr movie in 24 hrs) of entertainment since Dec 21...
It was kind of fun trying to spot which shots came from which movies/ TV shows, but aken as a whole - nauseating. I can't believe someone wasted so much time to make a movie trailer for a gawd-awful movie.
Noooo! Someone tainted my Farscape! Don't do that to Chiana!
Seriously, though, the saddest part is that as awful as a Thundercats movie would be, it couldn't possibly get any worse than the original cartoon. After growing up a huge fan of it when I was around 7-ish, I made the mistake once of catching an episode as a teenager. Wow, talk about destroying a childhood memory. In retrospect I watched a lot of putrid television as a kid, and Thundercats was probably toward the bottom of the heap in terms of actual quality.
only the most cool cartoon that used to play a long long time ago!!
Google, lazyass.
I will give props for slipping in footage from "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome."

Both apply here.

But Thundar the Barbarian would be much much better
That's JAYCE and the wheeled warriors, poser :P
