2008 We’ve Never Been So Happy to Be on the Bus
posted by November 4 at 20:50 PM
onIt was business as usual on the number 18 bus to Ballard around 7:45 or so. Until, of course, the driver announced: “Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
Everyone on the bus cheered.
“The black man won!” declared the woman from behind the wheel.
Everyone on the bus cheered even louder.
An older woman started mumbling that it was about time, she was looking forward to good health care. A loud man at the front wouldn’t stop yelling about how great that is. People called their friends, strangers nodded and smiled… it was the teary-eyed, goosebumpy moment we’ve been waiting months for.

Sorry to break the bad news, but Prop 8 is probably going to pass along with Prop 102 in AZ and Prop 2 in Florida.
In Rainier Valley-
People are singing
Shouting
Crying
Dancing
It's a good time to be alive, to dance in the streets!
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now the work begins.
I believe it's been documented that Barack would rather be considered African-American. It still doesn't change the fact that he's mulatto. It seems idiotic to keep saying black black black. Pardon the racist (in the old sense) phrase, but call a spade a spade.
Did anyone break it to that poor old lady that Obama actually stopped even pretending to have a decent plan for health care quite awhile ago? Let's hear it for more gouging of the public for the sake of the fattening pockets of the private insurance industry.
