Seeing the Reverend Jackson sobbing with joy last night was the only thing that brought tears to my own eyes (Fuck! It's happening again!). My reaction to Palin's tears was less of a giggle and more of a cackle, followed by a loud fart.

Did anyone else notice the frosty hug between Palin and McCain at the end of his speech? It looked to me like they couldn't wait to get away from one another. Newsweek's blog is also reporting that she was pretty ticked off that Steve Schmidt wouldn't let her speak at the concession speech.

Jesse Jackson is a has-been. I watched him desperately squeezing those tears out. When a red camera laser would glow on his face he would turn toward the camera and put on his sad/happy face.

So, the whole evening had me misty eyed, and I'm not too proud to admit that I found Palin's tearing up a touching moment.

I guess I feel some empathy for her at this point. Let's face it, she wasn't the best choice, and she is going to be scape-goated big time. And she's had to endure a lot of shit these last months. Ya ya, I know she brought a lot of it on herself, but I'm feeling for her.

Brad, you're right. I felt really sorry for her too, especially with that radio-show prank that was pulled on her. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with her politics, but that whole interview with "Sarkozy" she was thinking "Someone's finally taking me seriously!" Only to realize she's still the national punchline.

Fuck Sarah Palin. I'm glad I got to see her tear up, for all the hate & bullshit she spewed out. She doesn't deserve my sympathy for losing the election and I would drink those mascara contaminated tears if I could.

Jesse Jackson, on the other hand, touched me. However twisted he may have become politically, he was part of the beginning of the civil rights movement. I'll overlook any playing up to the camera for now.

I find it sad that it took losing the election to bring out the statesman in McCain.

His concession speech was very very well stated and put and he deserves the respect of all americans for the sacrifices he has made for our country and our freedom.

That being said, apparently Palin didn't leave when the McCains did and hung around with the press.

You know why she's really crying though, right? McCain's political adviser vetoed her request to speak to the crowd after McCain's cessation speech. It'll be in a huge Newsweek article this coming week.

Ugh, the way she smiled when the crowd booed Obama. While John tried to calm the crowd and redirect them, she stood there soaking it (the crowd's vitriol) in. She's a heartless attention seeker.

i watched the whole thing and did not see palin cry. she looked unhappy, esp. when the boos could be heard through the applause for her, but no tears did i see. is this like when all the boys on slog piled on hillary and accused her of crying, having an emotional breakdown, etc. when really it's just that her eyes got a little misty?

for the record, i despise both women.
