@2, they have promised to adopt from a shelter or rescue. Yay!!!!! Not only an Obama victory, but a shelter pet in the White House.

@2, he has already agreed to adopt from a shelter thanks to a letter from ingrid newkirk of PETA and a petition.

Indeed, it will be a shelter puppy. The organization I work for, Best Friends Animal Society, collected 50,000 signatures and delivered the petition asking the Obamas to adopt should they win. I'd like to think we had something to do with their choice.

I hope it's a pit bull...woulnd't be the first in the white house. Theodore Roosevelt had one, as did Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter.
