what -- death with dignity and light rail are chopped liver?
"Prefers"? What the hell is that? Are they both too wishy-washy to actually be G.O.P. or Democrat? Or is this like the sexuality continuum -- they generally swing one way, but will swing to the other side if the mood strikes?
Don't post pictures of your marked ballot. That would violate Wash. Rev. Code §29A.84.670 - Unlawful acts by voters
It's okay to take pictures and video inside polling places, but not of marked ballots.
I assume "farewell to the polls" on these stickers refers to the end of neighborhood in-person voting in King County? It seems like a real shame. I like that we have the option to have both, and I doubt we'll see voter turnout by mail like we're seeing in person today. I also worry that mail-only voting was rushed in before people could consider all the negatives.
@3, is that true? Yikes. What's the penalty?
@2, that is the language imposed upon us by our inane new voting rules, after our strictly partisan balloting was thrown out. Note also that "G.O.P. Party" is redundant, like "ATM machine"; the P already stands for Party. But Rossi is a fuckhead who's trying to conceal his Republicanism.
Fnarf, that fill-in on the Obama bubble is a little sloppy, don't you think? I spent all kinds of time on mine. The Gregoire one at the bottom -- to me -- is completely illegible and shouldn't be counted.
@4, if it's true, it's $100. However, if I'm reading this page correctly, the relevant section was intended to be stricken from law.
(1) It is unlawful for a voter to:
(a) Show his or her ballot after it is marked to any person in such a way as to reveal the contents thereof or the name of any candidate for whom he or she has marked his or her vote
@3, I don't think so. According to
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=29A.84.670
the legislation was modified twice in 2003, the first time with the language saying "show his or her ballot after it is marked...", but the second time with that paragraph struck out. According to RCW 1.12.025, if a section is modified twice in a single session, and the language conflicts, the last modification counts.
How typical that WA is so stupidly confusing on this point.
I'm glad I wrote in Christine Gregoire on my federal emergency ballot instead of "Democrat".
Lloyd, I gots shaky hands, OK?
Grand Old Party Party.
8: I failed to scroll down. I guess the second version supersedes the first.
Sorry Megan & SLOG readers, disregard my warning.
Also, here's my family voting:

Go Obama!
