Simultaneously Fighting for Gay Marriage and Against the Stereotype About Gay Men and Good Design

(The headline above is Savage’s joke. But seriously: if any designers—gay or straight—want to redesign this poster and send it to us, we’ll put it up on Slog. If more than one designer takes this project on, great. We’ll have a vote and send the best one to protest organizers to use in the future. These protests are going to keep happening, and for God’s sake the posters should look good.)

it was obviously designed by a lesbian. if a gay man designed this poster, there wouldn't be any women on it.

No, no, it's one of those moving sidewalk, like in an airport.

Also, gays have asymmetrical heads and pointy feet.

And for double god's sake get a real domain name, even if it just redirects. There's no copy and past on posters, and nobody's going to remember gid=35445293690.

@1 and @2: Hee!

FWIW, I think the design is fine: I can read it, it has the right info on it, and I get it.

The cookie cutter cut-out look seems to be popular in gay oriented advertising...apparently, it's seen as non-threatening to nervous and hostile straights.

it just makes me want to have a cookie.

Apparently they took their typographic cues from Eric here. Inappropriately wide leading? Why not?

To Mr. or Ms. Poster Designer... graphic design is obviously not your profession, but you saw the need, made the effort and put something out there. Good job, thanks for stepping up, and I'll see you on Saturday.

As you can tell - I can barely type - so what is the catty shit about - just your habit in dealing with people?

I am going to work hard on building this event, hope you do the same, then offer your designing skills for free to all those who can use them for, underfunded/little time to get the work done, political actions. Deal?
