A Karp and a tuna and other events today.

First, the Karp: Larry Karp is at Seattle Mystery Bookshop, signing his newest novel, The King of Ragtime. It’s a mystery starring an ailing Scott Joplin, featuring Irving Berlin and “a hitman named Footsie.”

Then, the tuna: At Elliott Bay Book Company, Richard Ellis reads from Tuna: A Love Story. It’s about our relationship with the delicious fish.

Two library events going on, too. Peter Jamero is at the International District/Chinatown Branch of the SPL, discussing his book Growing Up Brown: Memoirs of a Filipino American. And at the main branch, Mary Woodward reads from In Defense of Our Neighbors, about people who stood up against Japanese internment.

And then up at Third Place Books, David Wolman reads from Righting the Mother Tongue, which could also be the title of a very dirty movie.

Full readings calendar, including the next week or so, here.
