I know Richard Pryor was ill for quite a well, so I would never want to have extended his years if they were painful, but man, if ONLY he were alive to see Election Day 2008. :(

Good call, Christy O. I've been a proud owner of that Richard Pryor Show DVD set for a while.

Lots of familiar faces there. Venus from WKRP and I believe that 'asian' reporter at the beginning is Robin Williams

Yeah, great cast: Tim Reid, Marsha Warfield, Sandra Bernhard, Paul Mooney - Williams was also a regular, but in this sketch he's only seen briefly at about :35 in standing behind the UPI reporter.

In contrast to modern-day political satire � la SNL, Pryor ripped the scabs off America's wounds to renew the pain in an effort to keep it foremost in the American psyche. Like so many, the man deserves a monument in DC. Check out DVDs of the old Pryor Show and The Smother's Brothers last season to see where Stewart and Colbert's inspiration came from, and how far below the bar they fall.

This clip is also reason #647 why Richard Pryor is one of America's greatest celebrities of our time, forgiving some of the stupid shit he said circa 1979 or so.
