Looking good for Gregoire, Burner, Prop 1, I-1000, and bad for I-985.

I didn't realize just how bitter and pissed the last 8 years have left me until that speech.

Jesus, it's going to be neat to have a president we can be proud of again.

I believe the glass was to block the wind on the microphone.

@Ryan

I know! All of my adult life- the entire part of my life where I actually paid attention to politics- has been spent with a president I hated. Despised.

It feels strange. Suddenly being handed a leader I can be proud of. I feel so happy. Like a weight has been lifted.

of course he is behind bullet proof glass, it would make sense. i would assume all presidents are protected in some similar way.

I hope that was bulletproof glass. I want them to do everything humanly possible to protect this man.

That glass/plastic was only on the sides, not the front. So it doesn't make sense that it was a bullet catcher.

I hope he is fucking surrounded in bulletproof glass for the next 8 years. Buy this man a Pope-mobile, stat!

My bet is that is to protect him not from bullets, but the wind coming off the lake. He is in Chicago, at Grant Park, after all.

YES WE CAN. YES WE FUCKING CAN.

It looked like the glass functioned as teleprompter screens. Maybe it had other functions too, but that was one of them.

I've been eligible for U.S. citizenship for a couple of years now, but haven't exactly been inspired to apply. Tonight, America proved that it's ready to move past some truly ugly chapters in its history. Tonight, I wouldn't be embarrassed to call myself an American. America has joined the 21st century and I wouldn't have a problem joining America.
