I'd really like to know what happened between this person taunting the police and the same person leaving the crowd to go slap one cop.
If I were to guess, I'd say the cop said something rude in retaliation for being taunted, and then got slapped. Shame on the cop if he escalated the confrontation.

Does the story, as it is written, make any sense to you? Does there not seem to be a vast leap between taunting cops from a crowd and leaving the crowd to go slap a cop?

Mahtli69 If I were to guess, I'd say everytime a black person committs a crime your brain starts working to blame the victim. If I slapped a black person everytime they said something rude my hand would be permedently numb. No not shame on the cop, shame on this little beast who fits the stereotype racists have of black people- high on violence, low on common sense. Shame on you for trying to blame the victim. We should ask ourselves, if Hillary had been elected president and a white woman slapped a black male cop in celebration, would this person have blamed the cop? The angry cries of "entitled racist white woman" would be coming off the lips of black people everywhere.

I never said that the woman was justified in hitting the cop.
My point is something happened between the time this woman was taunting the cops from the crowd and the time she left the crowd to slap the cop. This something is part of the story and missing from the article. The fact that the source of the story is the prosecuting State's Attorney might explain why that something isn't part of the press release. I'm trying to imagine a realistic scenario where something was actually nothing, and other than the woman being seriously mentally ill, it does not add up.
And, if the cop said something rude to the woman which led to her slapping him, then that woman is still guilty of battery and at fault. However, if the cop said something rude, then shame on him for escalating the confrontation. That's not what cops are trained to do.
