Mrs. O

posted by on November 10 at 14:52 PM

Posted with Mark Mitchell in mind (and with suspicions that he already knows about this)… A newish blog devoted to the fashion choices of Michelle Obama.

MrsO.jpg

The review of today’s White House appearance:

The coral-red silk crepe sheath features three-quarter sleeves, an empire waist and a high neckline with a burst of sunray pleats emanating from the collar. Purchased several months ago, but not yet worn to a major event, [Maria] Pinto thought Mrs. O might debut it for election night. Mrs. O accessorized the look with simple gold hoop earrings and patent leather red heels.

We have to say, Mrs. O looked fresh-faced and well-rested today. The mini break post-election has really done her well. And the dress. The clean lines flatter her figure, while the pleating at the neckline adds just the right touch of detail. If this isn’t Jackie-esque, we don’t know what is.

Yowza!

Sorry, it's just been so long since I could say that about a First Lady ...

Actually, I can't even remember being able to say that. Ever.

Thanks Eli, I hadn't seen that.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking this could have been filed under "homo".

I was reading my gossip magazines on the plane, and Michelle was voted as wearing some dress better than one of the celebrities. I can't remember which one, though.

I definitely see another Jackie O in the making. Michelle is a pretty woman, and she dresses well (with the exception of the blood-splatter dress on the night of the election). She has the real potential to be a White House trend setter, for sure. She sure made Laura Bush look frumpy today.

Well, that wasn't exactly hard, RP.

I'll take a president in a cheap suit, and a first lady who looks like a school librarian, if it means that stuff gets done in Congress. All this stuff is a crutch for weak-minded Americans who need a royal family to ogle.

I've known about this site for a week or so (I won! I won!) and I love this sort of shit. Sweet.

Negative! Poor Michelle Obama, if she's going to be judged like this for the next 100 years! How can anyone accomplish anything, if they're going to be rated about whether they look "tired'?!

Hmm. Jackie K-O simply aped Paris fashion with a half-decade lag. Michelle O is much more doing her own thing. But fashion itself has come along way since then to, so in all fairness she has a lot more to chose from. Plus she's more interesting because she's not just some tarted up bit of old money tail.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw the black widow spider dress! Now we know the liberal media is cowtowing to the obamas if they let that one slide.

I hated this dress. Two reasons: the color and the pleats.

Just awful. It was like watchign a fire engine.

She's gorgeous. But this dress was a catastrophe.

Laura Bush looked like she was wearing burlap.
