onA few weeks ago I wrote about how smart Bill Ivey’s new book about cultural reform is.
Well, Americans for the Arts just announced that Ivey’s been appointed as the leader of Obama’s arts and culture transition team.

I would just like to thank the Slog contributors for their coverage of everything related to the election. I forwarded many links & copied many pictures. Good work. And John Bailo, this is for you:

From that article...
"Corporate image-banks (like Bill Gates's Corbis) own and control millions of images, doling out accessibility according to what will make them money, leaving millions of images just as important but less popular in the dark."
Go Linux!
yaaaaaay!!
can anyone find a link of the article where this info can be found? i'm in a masters of arts admin program and need it to show everyone in my class. I'm reading Ivey's book right now and am very happy that he'll be heading the NEA!!
i'm so glad we have a president that cares for things besides wars and oil.
I hate to bring it up (not really), but what's with every single person on Obama's transition team so far being an old white guy? Maybe I missed someone.

The only black guy mentioned (I think) would be secretary of HUD! And a couple of women at the end of the article mentioned as possibilities.
What does it say about Obama that he even HAS something called an "arts and culture transition team"?
A fucking LOT, is what it says...
