...maybe they should put together a "Sorry, Fags" site.

Some of us are feeling pretty tossed aside by the new "progressive" majority right about now.

KBF,

there is no such thing as a "progressive majority". There is only a "moderate majority", the same as always.

What a load of crap.

The Xenophobic Theocrats treated us like dogshit, trashed the economy, wiped their ass with the Constitution, started wars based on nothing, and now we love them.

Bullshit.

@ KBF: I'm sorry. I really, really am. Prop 8 was the only thing that ever made me wish I was a Californian—I wish I could've voted against it. And I'm not a believer in throwing one cause under a bus so that another cause can be passed. But I have faith that this administration will do the right thing, once it has built up enough political capitol from doing a good, thoughtful job. I know that's not good enough, but it's what we've got.

Here's another 52/48..

52: Yes on 8

48: No on 8

Nov 5, 2008:
"In the wake of a sometimes bitter, and ultimately successful, campaign to ban same-sex marriage in California, leaders of the Mormon church are calling for civility and kindness from those on both sides of the issue… Salt Lake City-based church elder L. Whitney Clayton says the church is genuinely concerned about the emotional divide created by the gay marriage issue and says he hopes people will treat each other with civility and respect."

NOW they want civility after months of claims that their marriages and children need protection from us?

The only problem is many republicans would never find this site or even *go* on the internet in the first place.

That being said, its super cute. You can fucking bet the Republicans wouldn't ever make a site like this.

@6 - Totally agree. Don't forget the GOP said the same thing when they won. Bush was a "uniter, not a divider." Yeah, right!!

Also, the actual % is closer to 52 to 46. Don't make it sound so close. It was a fucking landslide!

Fuck the 57 million people who thought Sarah Palin could be my president. Fuck 'em.

@7: Thanks, Paul.

Your sentiment is what I've been hoping to myself, quietly; that though I believe most gays realized the political necessity of being thrown under the bus, perhaps there might be some token gesture made at the federal level.

Such as: under the aegis of the financial crisis, could those of us with Domestic Partnerships get the tax benefits of married couples, at least?

Washington state is doing its part. I can get my health insurance largely covered for my partner through the University of Washington. But salt in the wound? That insurance is extra compensation as the feds see it, and it's taxed as income.

@13: Nobody should have to have their rights sacrificed to make the world a better place.

And if we leave marriage equality up to popular votes, it's not going to happen for another twenty years. I believe Obama will do something about it, because he has to, because he's been fundamentally decent in every other way. Hopefully, we can convince him that it's an urgent issue.

@13, 14 - Yes, please keep making noise on this. The gov't reports to us now, and they won't make a big deal out of gay rights unless we do. Gotta keep up the pressure, ESPECIALLY since we actually have an administration that might actually listen to us this time.

I am with the rest of you right now, I am more ashamed now to be a native Californian than I was when "we" elected Arnold in 2003, and I thought there would be no shame worse than that.

But, alas, this website is -not- about that. It's really sweet, and makes me so proud that people are coming out with sights like this...so much positivity.

Oh dear God, I think that's my roommate's ex-gf... and she's a fucking crazy bitch.

Good luck, dude. You shall require it.

(Not cause she's conservative. Cause of, well, the aforementioned crazy.)

Hot chicks don't vote red. I mean seriously. There are way more blue women out there than blue men. He should just look around some more.

In a reality based photo the guy would have been the red voter. In those situations sometimes the girl just has to settle for numerical reasons.

Your absolutely right Karlheinz it IS a load of crap. It is a load of crap how the liberals now all of a sudden want to be "united," to "come together." to be patriotic. After eight years of un-relenting bitter attacks on the President and fighting the other side tooth and nail the whole time. It IS bullshit, like we are supposed to just close our eyes to all that and just be buddy buddy with you libs now? You are all yelling about how the Republicans would never have a site like the 52 (even though it was 51)/ 48 site. If the left lost do you really think they would have a site like 48/51? FUCK NO. Do you really think they would still want us all to "come together" and be "united behind our President."? I think not. The moral of the story is this: If the left wins, it was a clean election, the will of the people, and it's time to all be together, happy and united. If the right wins, the election was corrupt, "stolen," not in accordance with the popular vote, and time to start crying to the world about how sorry they are that the Republicans didn't let them win, and how he "isn't my President." Your right Karlheinz, we (the 48%) have about as much desire to "come together" as you 51% would want to if YOU lost. We will block everything and anything that the Messiah tries to pump through to realize his "Socialist Utopia." You think because you have the minority and your fearless leader in office that you will get anything done? Reminder, we had the majority and our leader for eight years and did anything get done? No, for the same reason nothing will get done now, fillibuster. Time to give the libs a taste of their own medecine, enjoy!!!
