Slog - Comments on How Are You Feeling?

I know from my unscientific surveying that the Slog readership is about 99.9 percent pro-Obama. I also know, from reading the comments, that your levels of anxiety about tomorrow are all over the map (and changing by the moment). But it's been a while since we had one of our group therapy sessions, so, with one day left to go, a poll to get the conversation started: How are you feeling?...

I've been sick to my stomach all morning. I went for the closest I could find to "I want to puke right about now," but when I went to click on "panic attack," my browser finished loading something above, and I accidentally voted for "uneasy". I puked, and then I calmly changed my vote to what I'd intended.

All the same, I think I'd like a paper trail.

@2, @14 -- alas, fivethirtyeight has Chambliss as an 84% favorite right now, based on all polling. The only thing Martin's got to cling to is hopes that the turnout will swamp expectations.

@18

And that's our hope. Turnout--and standard polling models that have excluded 'likely voters' who failed to vote in past elections. Atlanta got the ledes, but lines at early-voting polls throughout Chatham County (Savannah) all last week had waiting times averaging over an hour. An ocean of brown and black faces who did not vote in 2004.

Additionally, for a campaign that only started in August, Martin is making Chambliss work his cracker ass off.

Early voting in GA is 150%+ over 2004; wish us a continued heavy turn-out, Washington.

I think Fnarf completely captured my feelings.

Feeling pretty good about Obama. The polls all look good. After the last 2 elections, I will not believe it until it's official, but it is hard to see how McCain can win at this point.

However, I'm in full on freak out mode over the governor's race and Prop 8 in CA.

My guess is that Gregoire will eek out a tight victory on Obama's coattails, but I may just be overly optimistic. Multiple recounts wouldn't surprise me in the least. If Gregiore wins, she totally owes Obama a blow job.

I also think Prop 8 will pass. Every single state that has voted to enshrine discrimination against gays into their constitution has done so. The polls are excruciatingly close, and I have no faith that it will break our way. People are assholes. Go figure.
