i saw someone flying a confederate flag on my drive to work yesterday (in a small city in new jersey). i'm doubting that it was merely coincidence.
post the address please k thx.
also what is that flag above the confederate flag?
That's Richmond for you. I was ready to move away as soon as I could.
Last night in the Men's locker room at 24 Hour Fitness club, I had a shouting match with an ageist who was preaching a gospel of hate by condemning John McCain for being old.
I think Barack Obama sent the right message by praising the 100+ voter in his acceptance speech.
I think that Seattlites who daily discriminate on age and make ageist comments will now have to march to the beat of different drummer now that Obama is in office.
Watch out ageists -- Barack and Bailo are comin' ta get ya!
Too bad you didn't get the foreclosure sign on their front yard in the picture.
Chesterfield?
Bailo, the slang for those encounters you keep finding yourself having in men's locker rooms is not 'shouting match'.
Boy oh boy. They're lucky we're better people than they are.
Let them fly their sad little flags. They've lost. All they've got now is the consolation of free (hateful, small-minded) speech, which, as we well know, is little consolation at all
They get to voice their opinions, but they don't get to enforce them on the greater populace anymore. It's a great day.
The stars and bars are about SOUTHERN HERITAGE, not slavery and all those other horrible things that are part and parcel of Southern heritage.
Maybe they're just fans of the Dukes of Hazzard (which I think makes them even worse people).
While it is easy to be angry with people like these I also react with pity for their children. I think these people are living relics of the past. In a way they are laughable like the character Granny on the Beverly Hillbillies who could never accept or admit that the South had been defeated a century earlier.
On the upside, Richmond voted 79.2% Obama, 20% McCain, with 100% precincts reporting.
Just give 'em a big smile, a big thumbs down, and keep on walking. They're the ones getting left behind. If they don't want to come with us, they lose, not us.
I agree with 13...I woke up to status messages on facebook from people I grew up with in rural Louisiana. Wow-I was saddened by the blatant racists and ignorant statements made by these people. I hope that everyone will join in the happiness of hope and change!!! Yes, we did!!
kinds looks like the hezbollah flag in front of the stars n bars. WTF.
It has been a long time since I've spent any time in close proximity to that kind of blatant racism. I'd say that racists got a real slap in the face last night.
I'm glad I was able to help deliver it.
Ahahahahahaha!
@10.... Yo name is TOBY!
I live in Richmond, and there are stupid people here just like everywhere. However there were also lots and lots of people (myself included) who took to the streets and woke up our neighbors with our jubilation. Of course there are dumb racists left after last night. We just proved that they're the new minority.
eggs and toilet paper will make a wonderful addition to their perfect lawn......
